Diabate looks better but still has some seasoning. Miller looks to have positive potential. But he’ll be stuck in the G-league.

Liked what I saw from Diabate and Brown, would be nice to see these two develop more. There’s potential there for sure.

Clippers still have a power forward/center problem.

Zubac should be fine: Although he finished with an alarming negative plus/minus last year, he finished strong with a team-leading plus+3.0 after the AS break, including a very nice plus+5.0 per 100 possessions with Westbrook. But unfortunately, 24 minutes seems the limit of his effectiveness. After a month of playing 30 mpg, he was crap for months afterward.
I always liked Plumlee--he always seemed to play well against us--but he just hasn't clicked here as a Clipper yet. He had a negative plus-minus here last year and he got no interest in the open FA market as a starter, signing here for $5M, which is generous for a backup these days.
Unfortunately, Diabate is a tweener. Too short and light for the paint, and he doesn't have a 3-pt shot to be a stretch 4. I do not believe. I have a better hope that Kobe Brown can whipped into NBA shape and contribute at the 4. We only need 10 mpg and can go small for the rest.
K-Mart2 had 8 rebs tonight, but is only 6'6" on paper. But at 17/7 per 36 minutes, he might eventually be the better choice over T-Mann's 6'5", 13/5, which pushes Kawhi or PG over to go bang with 240-pounders at the 4. Mann is a 2-guard. He's even small for a 3.
It's always been my observation that Ty Lue starts every year with a clean slate. Batum is a lock for 20 minutes, but it's coaching malpractice to play him any more at age 35. Both Mook [sucked then went mental] and RoCo [doghouse] will be given a fresh chance to earn those minutes.
What I'm most afraid of is Christian Wood earning the starting center job with the Lakers, moving AD to the 4 and a real matchup nightmare for us no matter who gets the job.

Plumlee/zubac are both quality backups in the league. We need defense from power forward/center position for the problems you mentioned. The west is loaded with Lebron, AD, KD, Joker and many more. We have no one to defend that position and it will continue to be why we dont make the conference finals/nba finals. We have 2 aging superstars who cant regularly defend either so you need defense from someone else.
If Im the Clippers, im calling Portland seeing what we need to give up to get Robert Williams. A switchable big who can defend. We dont need scoring from him. He can catch the lob and finish around the rim. Thats all we need. Hes youngish, injury prone but thats a risk we can take considering the Clippers history is injury prone.

I wish there was a way to fix Zu's stone hands. Honestly instead of going after Harden we should be going after a true starting center. Zu is good but he's a backup center on a championship team.

Yes, I heard Zu has been working on his post game. Next level.
But his hands are still made of stone. You is what you is.
And Mann is turning 27. He stood around a lot and watched 23-year old Bones fly by him.
You is what you is. Rise up or GET OUT. I like T-Mann, a lot. He is an NBA rotation player. But you is what you is and more minutes is NOT gonna make him any better.

If you watched the game tonight, you know my aim is true.

PG & Kawhi looked good, but as usual, its all about health with those two. Bones will get minutes and might break out which is great. Zu's hands are still, and will probably always, be made of stone. And I'm sorry, but I just can't watch Norm play basketball. He when he makes shots, he's a massive black hole on offense and its just not winning basketball. Boston getting injured at this time is awful for his career moving forward. This isn't just a contract year for him, this is also a "career year" where he's literally fighting to stay in the league and receive a new deal. Hopefully its not serious. KJ Martin showed some good things but Kobe Brown is going to be the man. Moussa still hasn't found his game yet. He better find it soon

what is it specifically about brown you guys like?
and any thoughts on diabete's growth since the last season and any potential impact he may have on this season?

Brown is 6'8", 240 and shot the lights out from 3 in the summer league.
Diabate is 6'10" in shoes and but that's not really an advantage at the 4. You need some beef down there in the paint and he's a rail.

I like Browns awareness. His attention and craftiness on defense. Understands where to be on the court. In SL he let it fly but did hesitate a few times to shoot the ball in this game. The coaches called him over and told him to shoot it when he’s open like that.
Diabate has improved imo. He seems more sure on the court and has put on muscle but still gets a bit pushed around a bit. He’s moving in the right direction but needs consistent play and minutes. Unless we have that many injuries he’ll only get that with the Ontario team.

Diabate still needs to play more under control. He fouls way too much. It needs to be more controlled aggression.
After watching the game last night. Lue wants to be a switching team and Zu is just not that center.
My favorite trade would be Zu for Robert Williams. Same price tag
Westbrook
PG
Kawhi
Roco
Williams
That would be an amazing switching team plus more rim protection with Williams.
