Wiretap: Brand Still Out For "A While"

Elton Brand took the court to practice with his teammates recently in hopes that he would return to game action in two weeks, but coach Mike Dunleavy anticipates it'll be more like a month, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

"He was so excited to be on the court, and we were so excited to have him there," Dunleavy said. "You can't lose reality, though. It would make no sense to throw him out there when he's not in absolutely great shape because then he might injure something else. It just doesn't make sense."

At least we can be confident that EB will return this season at some point, whether it's with 15 games left or 5. It's that skinny PG we gotta worry about getting some playing time...

I just want EB to come back this season. I just want him to get some playing time and get a little more familiar with the game again.

I am really anxious to see him back on the court and obviously EB is chomping at the bits. He'd considered playing in the D-League just to get a taste. He's gotta be 100% though. I think Dunleavy is looking at not only EB's health but ping pong balls as well. I could see him returning in about 3 weeks. Regardless, I love Brand's enthusiasm. Come back and beast in '08-'09
