Everybody on our squad is expendable except EB, Kaveman, and Thornton. Let's get this done!

If they are serious about making a trade for Arenas, only EB would be untouchable according to the article.

It might be worth a shot to try and get Arenas, but I have mixed feelings about having him on our team. To me Gil is more of a one-on-one player rather than being a team player. Gil has two very good players to play with in Washington. And what we've seen is that the Wizards play better when Butler and Jamison are on the top of their game without Gilbert.
But since we've had a bad season I'd give it a shot trying to get Gilbert.

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

If you guys keep Brand, you'll have less than $8M in cap space even if you cut Maggette and Livingston. (You have to account for the cap hold of your draft pick plus at least three minimum-salary vets to give you a 10-man roster.) With $8M available, how exactly do you propose to get Arenas?
The Wizards are sure to offer more than $8.0M. Heck, the Wizards are sure to offer more than $12M and as much as $16.4M. The Wizards can also offer a 6-year contract while the Clippers can only offer a 5-year contract.

I think re-signing Corey will only stunt Thornton's growth. We definitely need some guards, so if Arenas isn't a possibility, I think we need to look elsewhere for other quality 1's and 2's. The following will be FA's, restricted or not:
Gilbert Arenas
Beno Udrih
Jose Calderon
Louis Williams
Jannero Pargo
Baron Davis
Monta Ellis
JR Smith
Allen Iverson
Daniel Gibson
Ben Gordon
For what Corey will ask, let's spend that money to shore up the backcourt.

^ Dunleavy has coached some ultra-deep teams in Portland and a lot of times, I think he tries to mold the Clippers into what the Blazers used to be. The only realistic options I see on that list are JR Smith, Williams and Pargo, and I don't think re-signing Corey will hurt our chances signing any of these guys with our MLE.
