Who to Sign With the MLE?

Post#1 » by loflin3hree5ive » Mon May 26, 2008 4:20 pm

Nobody really stands out that would accept the full MLE or at least a good chunk of it. Who will you be realistically looking for us to sign come July 1st?

I'm assuming we're going to end up draft Gordon which will mean we're going to need some point guard help. Pargo is going to embrace the opportunity the Clippers will have for him at point guard and that he's a possibility. I like his up-tempo game and thought he played well in the postseason, so he's my pick.

My vote went for Pietrus, I think he could be a good fit if both Maggette and Q Ross leave in the offseason. I'd offer around 5 million per season though, I don't know that he would be worth the entire MLE.

Udrih is the only player on this list that will almost certainly get the full MLE based on his play last year with the Kings.

Pargo or Udrih since we need serious help in our backcourt.

I voted for Diop but that was before I saw Pargo in the list. I'd rather have him, but I think his stock has risen a ton during the playoffs. There'll be lots of other suitors.

Diop if we need a center.
James Jones if we need an outside shooter.

Go MLE on Pargo, use the LLE on Devin Brown.

I wouldn't give up even half the MLE for Pargo, the guy is making 2 million per season. That is about what he is worth and he may not opt out, he has a player option for next season at the same salary.

I went with Udrih although I think it's likely that he'll remain in Sac-Town.

I'd consider Pargo or Duhon (even though he has a lot of baggage) depending on what their market value will be. Neither would help our need for shooting though.

If our guard needs are met through the draft & Maggette, then Diop would be a nice defensive backup to Kaman.
