CTers!!!

Post#1 » by StaticFlow » Wed Jul 2, 2008 5:29 am

I've been checking on this board and the espn board often since CT shut down and I've noticed that some CTers have migrated here. I was just wondering if any of you guys know if the board will ever come back? But yeah, through thick and thin guys, we finally have a glimmer of hope with the davis signing! :D

Hey StaticFlow, nice to have you on board.

I never posted on CT, but just wait for some of the former CT'ers to reply to this thread.

You should stay and post here too, we keep getting more and more users.

I was a CTer, but have since moved here and have begun checking a couple of other Clipper message boards. They don't feel like home yet, but I do see many familiar names.

Hey, StaticFlow! Honestly, if CT isn't coming back, I'm staying here. Actually, I'm here regardless...it's a great site. I've been signed up since '04 but never really posted. It's kind of lame how that all went down with the CT domain and all. There's pretty much 2 boards that CT'ers have migrated to. The RealGM LAC forum didn't really have as many posters compared to others but since CT went down, I've found that the post count has gone up considerably--especially today with the big time BD signing.

corgiBear, what was your screen name on CT?

I wasn't able to register there so I was a lurker for the longest. I hope that it is able to be resurrected but it's great to have more people posting here as well.

I don't remember exactly...but something like 'jtkato'

I'm so excited about the Bdiddy news that I couldn't even sleep. Woke up at 5am and went jogging at 6 in the morning for the first time in my life.

I feel like kg after he won the championship..."Anything is possible!", "Top of the world!"

It's good seeing you fellow CTers again: illastrate, Guyv, MJ, and Jtkato! I remember all of you. Thank you for the warm and friendly welcome CD and MK, it's much appreciated. :)

Well, since CT isn't coming back, I'll probably stick around here. It was pretty lame that the domain just got shut down like that. I thought it was temporary since there had been times i wasn't able to get on before it coming back a day later. I was really let down when it never came back on though. This board doesn't feel like home yet and I will need some time adjusting to this board, but I'm already loving it. I think I saw soy and madglove on the espn site. I will try to get them to come here too.

Frankly, I'm glad that CT bit the dust. I used to post over there as New York Clippers Fan (username too long for this board) until I got "banned" late in the 06-07 season by that loser two-bit dictator (jcrush13) for being too negative. When you think about it, it really is pathetic when the only way you can exert any influence over another person is by "banning" them from a public message board. I've also checked out the ESPN and Scout boards. For my money the discussion on Scout is far superior to that on ESPN. ESPN is pretty much dominated by Mad Glove (another former CT mod or admin or whatever he was) and a few other characters and the discussion is generally of much lower quality. Good to see Guyv, Werd and a few other old CTers on this board. Not so good to see Shoe but you gotta take the good with the bad I suppose. Does anyone know if jcwla is posting anywhere these days under his old username or some other name. He was also banned by you-know-who for being a "hater".

Last season was such a debacle that I didn't even subscribe to League Pass or post on any boards. The writing was on the wall the second EB got injured. This season, on the other hand, is shaping up to be very interesting. I always really liked Baron as a player and he could make a huge difference. If you can believe what is reported in the media then it's a good thing Dunleavy and Baylor had pretty much nothing to do with the Davis signing. Guaranteed that if 1 or both of those morons had been involved they would have found a way to completely screw it up. Not to rain on anyone's parade (but then again I wouldn't be NYCF if I didn't) but I am concerned about Baron's durability. In his 9 NBA seasons he has played all 82 games on only 4 occasions (his first 3 seasons and last season). In the other 5 seasons he only averaged 56 games. I am cautiously optimistic that he doesn't miss too many games next season. He really is a special player. Could be a fun year for long-suffering Clipper fans.

Give the ESPN.com NBA page a look. Check the Steven A video in the top right-hand corner.

Hey, NYCF. I didn't even know you and jcwla were banned from the board until about the end of the season. I just assumed you guys didn't want to post anymore because of the crappy year. I kind of joking asked why you weren't posting at all and crush said you were banned a long time ago. I don't think anybody had any idea. That was pretty bogus because neither of you were using foul language or said anything that offensive. Message boards shouldn't just be limited to homers with their blinders on...that's boring. Well, hope you post here some more or tell us where. It's good to see you still around.

Hey Guyv, good to hear from you. Hope you're doing well. I always considered you to be one of the best posters on CT (definitely not a homer, fair and objective, willing to criticize where warranted). The only problem I ever had with your take on the Clips is that it took you WAY too long to turn on Fish Face (my nickname for Dunleavy). Man, I really hate our esteemed coach. Gonna be interesting to see how long it takes before he and Baron are not exactly seeing "eye-to-eye" (my guess is about 10 games).

Anyway, going forward it looks like I'll probably post here and at Scout. The ESPN board has a lot more traffic but the discussion is geared more to the lowest common denominator. Would be nice to get some of the other good posters from CT over here (hip, jc, etc.). Hopefully, they'll find their way over here eventually. I know that Glove and BorB post a lot over at ESPN.

Hopefully, EB doesn't bolt to GS or somewhere else (but somehow it would be so Clipperesque if he did). Time will tell.

Same old New York Clipper Fan. haha. I'm pretty sure you don't remember me, but i remember you fairly well. As Guyv has stated, I didn't even know that you got banned; I always assumed that you left because the clippers were sucking so bad. I just found out all this now. Anyhow, it's good to have you on this board.

Hey SF, I definitely remember you and it's good to see that you too are posting on this board. Regarding the assumption that I didn't post last year because the Clippers sucked so bad all I can say is that if I stuck around for that golden era in Clipperland also known as the "Brunson era" the Clips' exceedingly poor play could never be an excuse not to post.
