What i can't just ask to see if you guys have any worries? I automatically am putting Baron down just cuz i asked a few questions to see what you guys think? It's a question, not a put down. Get it straight loflin3hree5ive. Now read all of my posts in this thread and see if i say anything negative about Baron and you MIGHT finally understand. By the way i do not have a point to get across because if so it wouldn't be a question it would be a statment.

Sorry if I've insulted you, but If you're not a troll, you sure do a great job impersonating one. There are plenty of Baron Davis threads you would be better off posting this topic in. I'm not trying to discourage you from posting, but as a piece of advice, be mindful when it comes to posting in forums belonging to division rivals. Stick around RGM long enough, and you'll see what I mean.

right i am not a troll and i'm not trying to impersonate one. i'm just asking a few simple questions (to get clippers fans opinions) . Yeah i may be new to this and didn't know it was such a big deal posting a topic on a division rivals board. What do you expect me to do go ask another board how they feel about Baron Davis? i surely don't expect other boards to answer what i wanna know from a Clippers fans standpoint. You think my intent for this post is negative, but actually you got it all wrong.

I don't expect you to comprehend why I might have considered you a troll since I've apparently been a member of RealGM much longer than you have. I'm intent on moving into my new appartment in Manhattan next week, not to make it out that you're putting down Baron Davis. This issue got dragged out longer than it was supposed to, so don't take it personal.

I'd be worried about the pace on the court. Baron needs to run and gun and I'm not sure Dunleavy will allow it like Nellie.

I think we played at a higher tempo earlier last season until more injuries piled on. Sure it's not as fast as Nellie's, but we have a more athletic team this season so I expect it to be even higher than our last attempt. We'll probably mix it up based on our lineup.

^ I'm with Fishy. I think Dunleavy is open to switching up the offense based on the new personnel we've acquired. Like someone else said, I have no worries at all except for his possible injury problems.

Our old offense won't be as effecient with the type of players we have now. Dunleavy will change our offense, he would be stupid not to.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

We tried the run-n-gun offense early last season, and it worked for a few games, until we realized...we just didn't have the personnel for it. It was a bunch of old guys and half court players trying to run, and it just didn't work.

This year, we're much more equipped for it, with Baron, Thornton, Gordon, Jordan, Camby, Taylor, Hart, even Kaman. Hopefully we can get an FA who can run as well (Kirk Synder).

As to OP's question, I'm not worried at all, at least after we landed Camby. We will be competitive, so I don't think he'll be any more frustrated on court than in Golden State. Plus he just really seemed to want to be in LA too, everything sorta lined up on-court and off-court.

Baron opted out and agreed really quickly to a contract here, it's not like he waited around for other teams and then finally settled for LA.

Now if we had lost Brand and not gotten Camby, I'd be worried for both BDiddy and the Clips. BDiddy doesn't want to spend the remaining prime years on a 30 win team, and the Clips don't want to pay for an older star while needing to rebuild at the same time.

As to the original question, I'm not worried about the off the court distractions he might have coming back to LA. His injury history is something to weigh, but he did play in all 82 games last season. The Clippers appear to have a paper thin bench at this point across all positions, I don't see Jason Hart being a big upgrade over Brevin Knight at PG so he better be healthy for the Clippers to have any playoff chances.

Barons a beast...end of discussion. It amazes me how there are so many Baron haters.

The only real worry the Clippers fans should have is about his health, i'm sure any realistic Clippers fans who know their stuff understand that Baron Davis is a chucker who doesn't always play up to his talent level (defense should be great but its average at best most nights).

Laker fan here... I know that bumped the validity of anything I have to say down by about 100 notches but eh...

anyways... I gotta say I'm really jealous you guys got Baron he's one of the great personalities and an all around great player. The OP has a good point though, its kind of sad to see a mod jump down their throat of all people but eh what can you do... I agree with what some people put. I love the roster you guys have with camby and baron and kaman and now ricky davis... it seems like theyre a bunch of malcontents or something like that but I think it will actually be really exciting to watch. Fun basketball from LA almost every day of the night now

Baron Davis is the best basketball player we've had for over a decade and the best PG...probably ever. LMAO at people making this seem like a bad signing.
