Hawks fan here. I've been following you guys with a lot of interest this offseason. Congrats on the signing. Ricky should round out your team nicely.

Heat President Pat Riley spoke late last season of possibly bringing Davis back as a supporting player, provided Davis was willing to defer from his scoring and ball-dominating instincts."

I have big reservations about this signing, but will try to keep an open mind until we see how he plays for the Clippers.

He can be good. But like I said, just don't let him play at the end of games. Here's a blog from our main beatwriter from the Sun-Sentinel.

Well, so much for free agency being Greek to Ricky Davis (see previous post).

Instead, the twice-failed Heat forward now is a Los Angeles Clipper. Somehow, that seems to make perfect sense.

No, Davis is not the reason -- at least not the sole reason -- the Heat fell to 15-67 this past season. He played hard when called upon, and, unlike so many others on the roster, pushed through all 82 games, even during the toughest times.

But like the Heat itself, Davis spent too much of the season zigging when asked to zag. After one decisive game-ending possession in yet another loss, when Davis was again caught out of position, Pat Riley first walked toward Davis, asked what the forward was thinking, and then walked away with an oh-never-mind shrug.

That, in a nutshell, was the Ricky Davis Experience.
