Clippers Introduce Hart & Davis

Ricky Davis wrote:His thoughts on the roster…
"We’ve got a lot of excitement. We have got every position filled up. Hopefully we can put the chemistry together. I think that’s the important key – that guys are hungry and coming from other teams, hopefully that will bring spirit into the locker room and we can go out and win games."

On starting vs. coming off the bench…
"It doesn’t really matter. I’ve started in my career and I’ve come off the bench. I think one of the hardest things to do in the NBA is come off the bench. I’m prepared to lead or come off the bench. It all comes down to who’s in the game. Between coming off the bench or starting, it doesn’t really matter."

Neil Olshey wrote:On Shaun Livingston’s health…
"Shaun went back to Chicago to work with some trainers there. He’s still playing one-on-one in a controlled environment but he hasn’t been cleared for full contact basketball yet. We don’t really have an answer for when that will happen. Shaun’s on the top of our radar, we keep up with his progress. Hopefully he’ll end up in a Clippers uniform come October."

On whether there is a search for a defensive minded big man…
"There is. We’re pretty active in that market right now. We’ve had some conversations with some players and there should be some things happening within the next few days. At the end of the day, guards win games, and we’ve got some pretty good guards all of a sudden. We’ve got guys who can score, create their own shot and shoot the ball with range. I think we have a great mix."

Eric is no longer alone, DJ has lost his number as well (he's been bumped to #9).

Are we all agreed its probably Elson on our radar? Or do you think they are preparing another curveball?

How did we ever let Hart go. Maybe both parties will appreciate one another more.

What's so special about Elson that you guys are seeing? I never really liked him much to be honest.

I think Elson provides a certain toughness off the bench. He can also spot start and is generally pretty aggressive around the rim.

Is there anyone else out there that we could perhaps be planning on inking in the next few days?

Glad to see the braids go. Ricky has been in some bad situations and I hardly believe any of them are his fault. Ricky got to be a part of three sinking ships. One, the year Cleveland tanked to get Lebron. Two, the year he got to be on the Wolves sinking ship in KG's last year in Minnesota. Then last year, Ricky was dealt to Miami to try to save their season, but injuries and Pat Riley's quickness to surrender the season put another wasted season under Ricky's belt. The only time Ricky was on a team with any talent or expectations was when he was almost 6th man of the year for Boston. I'm going into this with a very open mind. Let's go Clips!

im so excited for this season. but in the article on clippers.com it mentioned something about how it'll be interesting as to who starts, davis or thornton. i hope that was either a joke or them just trying to be nice to davis so he thinks they're considering starting him. i love ricky davis, but i love al thornton more and know that al thornton is the better player right now and deserves to start. but ricky davis will be a great 6th man or maybe even starting SG.

btw how will the jerseys look for bdiddy and ricky d? will it be B.DAVIS and R.DAVIS?

R.Davis, an unrestricted free agent who turns 29 in September, averaged 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists while playing in all 82 games for the Miami Heat last season. He shot 43.3 percent from the floor, 40.5 percent on 3-pointers and 78.7 percent from the foul line.

Ricky D is far from bum status.
 that he chopped the braids off!

Hart picked a dope #

Glad to see that both Hart and Ricky Davis are in town. Poor DeAndre I guess these rookies will have to earn their numbers, 9 isn't bad though.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
