The streak continues! We've addressed every deficiency from last year's team... it's amazing!

All I know about Novak is that he can shoot threes. I am getting concerned with all the news faces on this team. I really hope that we will be able to develope some chemistry. I hope Novak will be able to develope other parts of his game. I'm not really into one dementional players.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

The Los Angeles Clippers today acquired forward Steve Novak from the Houston Rockets, Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor announced. In return, Houston will have the option to exchange second round picks with the Clippers in 2011.

Elgin Baylor wrote:“Steve is a terrific perimeter shooter who will definitely help open the floor and create more opportunities for our post players,” stated Baylor. “We are happy to bring him to Los Angeles.”

Mike Dunleavy wrote:“We are pleased to add Steve to our roster,” said head coach Mike Dunleavy. “He is an excellent shooter who will help us space the floor and keep defenses honest.”

Baylor says, "open things up for our post PLAYERS"; I think he should have said 'post PLAYER'". Does this trade mean we are about to trade TT to get some help down low? If so, who can we trade a $6 million player to to get that kind of help?

This guy sounds like Piatkowski, he can be counted on for 3's but the rest of his game is subpar. At least he is signed to a cheap contract.

You can probably add Ross and Livingston to that list as well. Marcus Williams and Mike Taylor are pretty much auditioning in training camp.

I think Marcus Williams will be released, he didn't show much last year and in summer league, although he put up some points in the last 2 summer games.

Well, we have a backcourt of Baron and Mobley who are very good at posting up as well. Maybe Thornton has expanded that part of his game..

If you let him shot alone, you already know the ball is going inside, but thats basically what he can do as a player. I guess he will have no minutes with TT, R. Davis and Thornton, but i wish him the best, and hopefully 5/15 minutes every 3 or 4 games.

Honestly, it's too bad the Clippers are in the west, for me the difference in terms of top teams between conferences is higher than ever, basically i'am saying a team like the Clippers would be fighting the second spot (Celtics #1) with the Sixers, Pistons or Magic in the East. And in the West they should fight for the last 3 spots with 2 great teams like the Suns/Mavs, 1 great young team like the Blazers and MAYBE Nuggets/Warriors.

I thought Fazekas was staying with you guys.

I hate to sound overconfident, but my expectations are a lot higher than that. I think Denver and Dallas are going to be lottery teams. San Antonio will slip to 5-7. GSW's going to be worse. Sac, Wolves, Grizz and OKC are staying in the lottery. I think the Clips have a solid shot at being as good as, if not better than Houston and/or Utah.

Hey GuyverX,
I agree with you on Mobley''s ability to post up and I think that Thornton can as well; but that's the point I'm trying to make. At this point, when Kaman is out of the game, we'll be reduced to posting up small forwards and gaurds. If Kaman is out for 5 consecutive games because of injury, we start the game with no low-post threat. Posting up sf and g are ok in certain situations/parts of the game, but I view that as a "luxury" not as a focal point of the offense. Now with the signing of JWill, it looks like we will fully committ to a running game and another big posting up becomes less of an issue. Before the latest signing, I didn't expect too much from Jordan this year-----but in a running game he can certainly be effective just running to the rim and dunking the ball. Anyway, I just try to think of/cover as many aspects of the game as we put this team together. We now have 13 players signed (not including Taylor), and still would like one more "big" who could command a double team from the low block. Just want to see this team do well-------as fans we deserve it.
