Clippers Suffering the Most in a Down Economy

Led by Oklahoma City (39.4 percent) -- which played last season in Seattle as the SuperSonics -- there are eight teams that have seen an increase in attendance this season entering Friday. The others are the Hornets, Pacers, Blazers, Hawks, Nets, Rockets and Bucks.

Four teams -- the Celtics, Pistons, Lakers and Suns -- are averaging the same amount of fans as a season ago.

The Clippers (15.2 percent) lead 18 teams that have suffered a decrease in attendance.

Probably the bad record, but I'm thinking that season ticket holder price increase over the summer may have contributed to this as well... Baron was supposed to bring MORE fans to the Clippers! Where are all the Lakers bandwagon fans we got from the 06 playoff run?!

Well...take me for example, I'm not a season ticket holder but I went to about 20 games last season. This season: 0. The bad record hasn't contributed to me staying away (hey, I went last season, right?), but all those fair-weather fans, like you said, are opting for the lakers. Clippers fans have always been known to be the blue-collar fans of LA anyway, as opposed to the lakers white-collar following.

Yeah, it makes sense... but I've driven up from San Diego three times this season just to see the new team with Baron, when before I would only go to that many throughout an entire season. Thought at least his presence would have drawn some people to go (Jessica Alba?).

I would be a season ticket holder expect that I stay in a whole nother state. I have been to 1 game this season so far. It is early in the year and some people may think that they can go later on in the season as opposed to now. If we start to win more I'm sure more people will come. There will also be Clipper fans so our home games won't be empty.

I could afford season tickets, but just find it to be a pain schedule wise to go to so many games. I'd rather just watch most of them on TV. Also, my first team is the Pistons, so I prefer to watch their games on League Pass and also catch some of the Clippers and Suns (my two other favorite teams) after

I've gone to two games so far this season opening night and the game on sat vs the heat. I saw ALOT of empty seats on saturday mostly the 300's section. The good thing about that bad start is season ticket holders lowering their prices for reselling their tickets

I ended up getting PR tickets for only $50

Unfortunately, my volatile work schedule won't allow me to be a STH but I still manage to make it to at least 20-25 games per season EASY!

I usually go to only 2 or 3 games per year, but none so far this year. I actually prefer watching on tv, you get replays and highlights and of course, Ralph Lawler and Mike Smith.

If the team improves then I'll probably go to a few, but if not, then I'm not.
