Should the Clippers...tank?

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Fri Dec 12, 2008 5:17 am

I don't think the Clippers can make playoff. If I were the owner, I would tank like the Cavaliers did couple years ago. They ended up getting LeBron.

B-Diddy, Thorton, Randolph, Camby, and an upcomer rookie in Gordon with an OK bench and they're 4-17?

It's like the Knicks from a few seasons ago but in the West.

I've never been for tanking, with that said we've been playing so bad that we won't need to tank. I do hope that we start putting some wins together. Even if we don't make the playoffs I'd like to have a better record than last season.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

There's absolutely no need to deliberately tank.
Between the calibre of the coaching, and the nature of the owner, this situation will entirely take care of itself.

We're not out of it. Ok, maybe we are, but we aren't taking.

I think we'll make one more move after the deadline, probably moving Kaman. After that there's still a lot of ball to be played. We may be able to sneak into the eigth spot. And even if we don't, we can make it respectable.

All I ask is that we go .500 the rest of the way. So that would give us 34-35 wins for the season. At this point, I'll take that.

I don't think tanking is the solution. That will probably give us a shot at Blake Griffin, in which we'd HAVE to draft him. Right now, our weakness is our wing players. I'd wanna get some help for the 2 and 3 positions in the draft.

I'm all for finishing the season respectably, it's not even time to think who we're gonna draft yet.

Lol we do not have an ok bench. EJ is an up and comer, but he isn't developed yet.

SG/SF 6'7 Demar Derozan(USC) is that guy we should tank for in 09.

I had big reservations on EJ coming into the draft, mostly because of his handle/size and NYK didn't need another "combo guard"... but his range has impressed me and his poise in college has translated. If you can get him to improve his handle, I think he can be a borderline All-Star with 2 or 3 in his career.

A killer jumper with a decent handle can get you anywhere!
