That surely was a heartbreaker --- but at the same time the Clippers played with such heart that we have to cheer them for this.
EJ with 31 points is outstanding --- and Camby with 14 points, 20 rebounds, 2 blocks and an assist is great too. Novak's 3's must be mentioned. In fact, everyone played more than their share and really came through.

Would have loved to see EG make that final shot because he played a great game. However, yet again, a terrible shot out of a game-ending timeout. Gordon did the best he could but that was a really ugly looking last shot attempt. Doneleavy is the worst in-game coach I have ever seen (and I've been watching basketball a long, long time). The Clippers never ever execute out of crucial late game timeouts.

I was following yahoo box scores. It initially reported the score as 87-86 your favor. It updated 2 minutes later, after I made my post.

True. And when you say never ever -- literally -- no Clippers team in my lifetime has managed to be consistently clutch.

It may have been a badly drawn play by Dun, but the shot that Gordon took was the kind that he had been making today. And hey....at least they got a shot off this time, right?

Just a little too much on it. It was a good effort by the Clips though. 7 guys injured. We gave up all of those second chance opportunities and we were still in it until the end. Guys like Novak, Jordan and even Collins stepped up exceeded their expectations tonight. Camby pulled down 20 again, but that's just another days' work for him. It's a treat to be able to watch him play game in and game out. Gordon didn't get the final shot to fall, but he stepped up in a huge way with 31 for the game (12-12 FT). He's very capable of being the man and opportunities like this will just further instill the confidence of his teammates into his abilities.

Every Pistons' player knew who will take the final shot, Curry knew and switched Prince on Gordon. What was Dunleavy's plan? the obvious, give the ball to the hot hand. Wouldn't it be smarter to run a play for Thornton, maybe throw it inside to Camby?

^ Maybe, but this is Dunleavy.
Dunleavy ≠ smart.

Even so, offensively, Camby isn't the kind of player you want taking the last shot. And Thornton isn't competent enough to be trusted with the ball in his hands-- Gordon may be the rookie, but Thornton's the guy who looks like one.

Gordon looked amazing in this afternoon's game. There were opportunities where we could have pulled down some rebounds and limited their second chance points. We also had a few lazy passes, some bad offensive possessions, and some missed free throws. It was an exciting game and there was a tough shot over Price that just wouldn't go. But like what was said before we played well for having so many players out.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
