I've been watching the NBA for 3 decades and Elgin is right when he says no one wanted to play or work for that team. The minute Dunleavy took that job only a fool wouldn't have thought he wasn't going to side step Elgin and take that job from him.

For the first time this is one law suit Sterling won't beat, it's time to pay up Sterling you've been delinquent for years now.

What are you talking about? Baylor has absolutely no grounds for a case. What, he was discriminated against for 22 years and never said a thing until after he was fired? Wow, way to stand up against discrimination, Baylor. And if he was so "underpaid," why didn't he just leave? 22 years of racial discrmination and "unacceptable" wages means it wasn't bad enough for him to just get up and go. Did Sterling have him chained up in shackles in the corporate basement? This lawsuit makes no freaking sense and Baylor should be ashamed of himself. I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling has some type of racial prejudice but he's done nothing wrong this time around. The only mistake he made was keeping a crappy GM for 22 years who only produced a winning team in 3 of them.

Typical Laker homer taking the side of an Laker legend, BTW.

Didn't you pay any attention to his press conference ? He stayed because it was NO blacks in the front offices of any NBA team (at the time he took the job). He felt he had to set an example and let it be known the job could be done. If you look back through history it had been only 1 black GM prior to Baylor that was Wayne Embry of the Milwaukee Bucks. Baylor was only the second to be appointed that position then Wes Unsel with the Bullets.

Yeah pretty much...........only a fool would think Sterling actually gave Baylor the absolute power to run the team as needed to. The only power Baylor had was drafting, cause when it came to free agents Sterling was a cheap a** and you know it.

Ah.......no this lawsuit makes plenty of sense, like I said Sterling has had the run of the mill for getting over on people his time is up this time. If Baylor only wanted to go after Sterling he suit only would be against Sterling and the Clippers, but he named the NBA also for purposes you'll find out later. Oh Sterling has done plenty of wrong but somebody else is going to make it right.

This has nothing to do about me being a Laker fan or the fact that Baylor was a Laker, the bottom line here is about somebody checking Sterling and exposing him for what he really is...........a low life sap. You said NOTHING in your post to suggest why Baylor can't win this lawsuit, please explain him having no grounds for a case when there have been actual proof from Baylor himself and comments from ex-players who know as much.

And please don't get it twisted for one minute if you think many of the players who Baylor drafted come to his aide as a witness in this case. Cause they know full well what went on and they are better suited to expose Sterling and the rest of his staff for what they are. When I hear Danny Manning say, "you don't know Sterling, and that's just something he would say" that's all I need to hear but it's also what I knew too.

Elgin isn't a nobody. If he wanted to prove people wrong by setting a good example of his race being able to handle front office duties I'm pretty damn sure other teams would given him a chance. This is Elgin Baylor, this guy is a respectable person in the league.

He stuck around doing squat for 22 years. 22 years! He didn't do a damn thing to help this ball club one bit. You can go and claim that Sterling didn't give him any power, but you'd think after a couple years of being a puppet the man would realize that his "setting an example" would be pointless with this team.

This lawsuit is hogwash. He should be damn glad he got 350k a year for dressing his little spiffy sweaters and chilling in the seats while watching us get blown out.

I'm with Guyv and Fishy here. No one is claiming to be a Sterling fan as I understand it, so it's not like by disagreeing with Elgin we are siding with Sterling. Basically, the front office let Elgin hang out for a bit, let him take some naps, and maybe make a few phone calls, if those calls were going to order Chinese food. Literally every single front office move that Baylor made was complete crap. Once Dunleavy stepped in and put together the '05-'06 playoff squad, Baylor won "Executive" of the Year. He should consider that ample compensation for the "work" he's done here.

Baylor was one of the worst Execs in team sports, and also one of the longest tenured. To not breathe a word about mistreatment until after he is relieved is a bit suspicious. Sterling may not be a nice guy, but it's not about him "getting what's coming." It's about Baylor being bitter and not being able to move on. This is all in my own opinion, of course.

And dude wants to complain about $350k a year?! WHAT?! Trade me jobs, buddy! I could take a nap at a desk, chill in my courtside seats, rock a Cosby sweater and look a hell of a lot better doing it too. And I'd do that for half of what this fool made. Ugh, people these days....:noway:

I understand frustration. Sadly Sterling has given us a lot of that over the years. We still need to be respectful even through frustration.
