Clippers Waive Jason Hart

Post#1 » by thanumba2clippersfan » Fri Feb 27, 2009 10:12 pm

Straight from the wiretap

The Los Angeles Clippers today waived guard Jason Hart.

In 28 games played this season, Hart averaged 2.3 points, 1.5 assists and 11.1 minutes per contest. Over his eight-year NBA career, Hart has recorded averages of 4.9 points, 2.3 assists and 16.1 minutes per game.

The Clippers acquired Hart from the Utah Jazz on July 23, 2008 in exchange for guard Brevin Knight.

I don't really understand why we had traded for him in the first place. Brevin wasn't great last season but he was much more productive than Jason has been. There should have been signs with Jason's production when he became the Jazz's third string PG.

I wonder who we're going to sign now.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

The reason why we traded brevin for him was because jason played for us the year before he went to utah and was really productive. and maybe we thought he could come back and put up those good numbers again as a back up. it just didnt click with him this year and its too bad cuz i still think he is a good player. maybe he is showing his age a little bit. maybe by cutting j.hart does that mean we might sign j.will since he wants to come back to the NBA and did sign with us before retiring?

As far as i know, that trade for Hart was made, because of team chemistry.

It's been said that Brevin Knight, when not having a bigger role, can be someone that disrupts team chemistry and therefore he got traded for Hart, who's a pretty good team guy.
Though, i'm not 100% on that.

BTW: Does cutting Hart mean we sign someone else?
Or did we just cut him, cause he doesn't plays anymore(he's clearly behind Baron, Mardy, Fred and even Mike Taylor) and he might get a shot somewhere else?

The chemistry purposes was the reason that I heard as well.

I'm not sure why Denver wants him. Cutting him saves the Clips a few hundred thousand dollars (if my math is correct )

I wouldn't mind us signing this guy so that he could have a smooth transition onto the coaching staff next season.

Jrue Holiday would be a nice fit to represent for the Clips UCLA to Clipper Nation Connection.

I like MK's thinking-- cut J-Hart, make room for Sammy C! :D

He was dead weight anyways with Collins, Jones and Taylor ahead of him in the guard rotation.

Fred Jones has really stepped it up since he joined us. I wonder if he will resign for next year. If he does we can pretty much say goodbye to Taylor's minutes. Collins and Jones would take up all the backup PG minutes.

I would love to see Sammy back though.

We would all love to have Cassell back. Hopefully we make that move so Sammy can make the transition into being our coach.

+1

Bring in Jrue Holiday next year. He is going to be a great player, even though he is only playing average this year for UCLA. He will be a much better NBA player than a college player.
