This is a first-hand account from a clipper fan and STH of the recent emergency meeting where season ticket holders implored Roeser to fire Dunleavy. This has ended up on a few different Clipper boards today so most of you have probably already read it.
Roeser, Olshey & Adam Silver were the guest speakers. The hot topics were trading Baron, Firing Dunleavy and the organization's dissatisfaction with Kaman.

Re: An Account of the STH's Emergency Meeting
Thanks for posting the link, mkw --- I had not seen this first-hand report and in reading it, found it very significant.
The important things seem to me to be:
1. That the Clippers season's ticket holders who matter most to the organization have been pushed beyond their limits, are justifiably very angry and are ready to not only say so, but to pull the plug on the money they fork over to the Clippers unless some by-now ridiculously necessary changes are made by next season.
2. That this cheesy and totally ineffective dual role for Dunleavy is a tipping point --- that the people who pay big bucks are this fed up by seeing how completely he has lost the whole team as a coach --- and the organization can't ignore it any longer without literally paying by losing noticeable revenues they can ill afford to lose.
3. That the people at the head of the league itself are indeed, as I had observed, increasingly out of touch with what fans are interested in and care about, and are at the same time so arrogant that they have no sense of this themselves.
...... plus a more personal observation:
4. As a Kaman fan, sadly, that it really seems possible that what has kept him out so long may be as much plantar attitudinus as plantar fasciitis. I hate to entertain this thought, but have to say it is possible after reading this account.

But hey OTOH...go USA BASKETBALL!!!!
The last thing I would do at such a meeting is talk about how they are a top 5 franchise in terms of revenue/profits. When the meeting is for high-priced season ticket holders to discuss why the product on the floor is so bad.
I guess after blowing a few hundred bucks to watch another loss, the season ticket holder can make himself feel better by thinking, "Yeah, but which team on the floor was more profitable tonight?"
It would be nice to fire Dunleavy now, but I think realistically such a decision wouldn't ever be made mid-season, given the team's injury problems.

I heard about this, but haven't read it. Thanks for the link.
Edit - The injury response is total BS. We aren't just talking about Brand and Livingston. The whole freakin team has been constantly injured year after year. Bad luck my ass.

Seems like a meeting full of excuses from the Clippers standpoint. The Clippers need to take a lesson on how to run a business, or in this case a franchise. The STH's all have a right to complain about Dunleavy. This guy is the main problem for the team right now and until the Clippers figure this out, they'll never go anywhere.

Like Fishy said-- sure, Livingston and Br...whatever his name was injuries were strokes of bad luck, or fate, depending on how you look at it. But Livingston & that other guy are not on this year's roster-- and every single guy on it is consistently injured! We're not talking about catastrophic career-altering injuries. We're talking about tendonitis, fasciitis, sprained this, strained that, sore back, bad headache...wtf? Those types of injuries aren't a matter of luck, they're an indication of the quality of care they receive....in my opinion.
Glad to see that most Clipper fans like Dunleavy as a GM, because I feel this way too. Reading between the lines it sort of sounds like, and I hope, Dunleavy may see his last days as head coach soon. Perhaps that's just me being optimistic, though.
Thanks for posting the link MK-- I wouldn't have seen this otherwise.

Injuries is the worst excuse that this team is suffering. They were playing just as bad at full strength! I hate it when people give that reason, since it isn't true in the first place!
Thanks for the link, mk.

The thing is, I wonder if Dunleavy actually wants to be just a GM.
I think the team has made good moves, which I give him credit for. I'm not sure if he is realistically a great GM candidate, OTOH maybe being a coach first is good. And at least he seems to have some actual authority in the organization.
