My One Concern With EJ Is...

Post#1 » by moses22 » Thu Mar 19, 2009 5:26 am

EJ is a great palyer ive been a fan of his for 2 years now and have seen him get better and better but my one big concern about him is that he might not be a winner. He has always come up short in AAU with derrick rose, high school he lost in the champonship game,in college getting knocked out in the first round and now being on the clippers with this dysmal season he might not know how to win

He's only a rookie right now and most good rookies get their start on losing teams. It's rare when a rookie can take a team to the playoffs in their first season. Most of the rookies that have enjoyed team success in their first season went on to become hall-of-famers.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Lebron James didn't make the Playoffs his first year in the league and neither die some other great players as well.

Of course you'd like to have guys that have won before, but it's still a team sport and with all that chaos around the Clippers, it's not his fault that we'll finish as one of the five worst teams this year.

Ohhh, EJ knows how to win. It's his teammates that don't. Don't blame him.

Yeah, its really not fair to blame him for his past losses. First of all, winning in AAU is not a big deal. Most of the players are out there to showcase for themselves, and its not a great atmosphere for great teamwork or guys concerned with winning. Second, IU was a complete and utter mess last season. Blaming Gordon for them getting knocked out in the first round is borderline ridiculous. The coaching turmoil, the rift between a lot of the players, the off the court crap going on, and, oh yeah, Gordon had a wrist injury that really limited him a lot more than people realized. I'd be more concerned about the cancer that is the Clippers franchise (no offense) poisoning him.

His career is still young and he has plenty of time to win something.

I hope that his teammates will carry their weight in their future. A few weeks ago there was an interview and he was explaining how much he respected Camby. He said that Camby was the consummate professional and always carried himself in a positive manner or something like that. That is that something Eric will need to do and learn since he's on the Clippers. He's already been on a team with an adverse climate before, so that only prepped him for this season with the Clippers.

The key will be for him to stay focused and not fall victim to potential negative surroundings. Divas, whiners, excuse makers, and slackers are what have me concerned.

I think he may very well prove to be the best player from the 08 draft. He is everything that fanboys wish OJ Mayo could become on top of being younger, stronger, longer wingspan, better shooter, more athletic and more physical all without pounding the air out of the ball.

I love Rose more but Eric Gordon is a special prospect. I think its well within his game to become a 25+ PPG, 5+ APG, 4 RPG type without needing 20+ shots per game to do it.

I wish the Wolves had grabbed him to pair with Al Jefferson for the longterm and i'm a pretty big Kevin Love fan.

That he even recognized this and pointed it out is a good sign. I have no worries about EJ's development and future progress.

Its really incredible how unlucky you Clippers fans are. you guys finally get that second true allstar in Eric Gordon that you've needed all along to compliment Brand and turn Maggette into a luxury scorer instead of necessity and its the summer that both guys leave.

I'm more concerned with the current Coach and his idiotic offensive schemes for Eric Jr & Co.

The same can be said about many of our current "All Stars".

I just hope he doesn't pick up any bad habits from ZBO or Baron.
