Bill Simmons & Coach Dunleavy War of Words

Post#1 » by loflin3hree5ive » Mon Jun 29, 2009 1:10 am

Coach Dunleavy on the Colin Cowherd Show on draft night calling Simmons a "joke writer":

Simmons fires back later on the show, then Twitter:

sportsguy33On Cowherd’s show, Dunleavy just called me a “joke writer” & said I had “no credibility.” Pot, I’d like you to meet kettle!

sportsguy33Here’s a joke: “What do you call an NBA coach who’s 194-298 with the Clips?” A: “Still employed!!!” Now that’s a funny joke.

sportsguy331 more joke: Q: “What do you call a coach who decimated 40% of his team’s season ticket holders base?” A: “Mike Dunleavy.”

sportsguy33Ok, 1 more: Q: “What do you get when you cross cheap suits, booing, 35-point losses + players mailing it in?” A: The Mike Dunleavy Era.

sportsguy33Mike Dunleavy saying someone has no credibility is like Michael Richards calling someone a racist.

sportsguy33I’m so on fire with Dunleavy jokes that Dunleavy just brought in an ice-cold Daniel Ewing off the bench to slow me down.

He actually first responded by going on The Herd later in that show.

And I'm 100% with Simmons on this, no doubt.

Their exchange was very interesting.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

This is no contest.
Dunleavy didn't know better than to engage with a wit like Simmons, who has actually followed the Clippers closely and has the facts at hand?
That alone says something about the guy.

That Daniel Ewing crack was hilarious! Simmons got him pretty good, and he was speaking the truth.

Dunleavey knows Simmons pretty well. Dunleavy was the guy who wouldn't pay Simmons after they made a $100 bet on a game of horse.
