Steve Novak

Post#1 » by twenty23 » Fri Aug 14, 2009 5:19 am

Are you guys expected to re-sign him for? how much do you think he will/should get?
Is there any minutes left for him?
Can he defend quick PF's such as odom, lewis, jamison? hows his defense in general?
If you were to sign nd trade him, what would you want back?
can you tell me a little about his game? thanks

We gave him a QO. There should be minutes for him, but not a whole lot. He also can't play defense.. All he's good for is shooting.

Novak is a great three point specialist. I think Dunleavy will try his best to keep him as an end-of-game 3 point threat at the very least, but I don't think the Clippers will match any substancial offer for him.

I like Jackson, but the problem is we don't need more big men. We need wing players or PG depth.

Thortan/ Smith/Butler
Griffin/Madesen
Camby/Kaman/Jordan

no? looks like you could use another pf, especially if you sign sessions.

More like this:

Thornton/Butler/Novak
Griffin/Smith/Camby
Kaman/Camby/Jordan

We are pretty much set in the front court.

Not likely. Jawad Williams has been in the Clipper training camp before and hasn't made the team. The Clippers don't have room for a young PF since they have Griffin, Smith and Madsen all under contract.

I'd rather see us land Ramon. Novak is expendable.

I think he'll end up accepting the QO and be our 3rd SF, 3pt shooting specialist.

I don't think you understood the first time. Smith is our backup PF, he is not a SF.

Anyone have any SF prospects that would fit our young core in the next incoming draft.

^ Al-Farouq Aminu would be a pleasant addition.

I'll look into him haven't seen much from him. IT's very early but looking at this upcoming draft prospects it's going to be a complete 180 from last years guard heavy. We are pretty set with bigs espcially if Smith pans out this season we can look to bring him back on a longer deal as the enforcer off the bench. We might want to add with a second rounder another big using the draft to develop behind the PF/C bigs of Griffin, Smith, Kaman, and DJ.

As far as young core goes PG and SF seems to be the holes and depending on Al Thorton's season we might need to make SF top priority.

Aminu is a very, very long, lanky specimen. He's still pretty raw, but the tools are there for a very special player in the NBA. Good rebounder, great defender and shot blocker, but still has to polish his offensive game. His jumpshot needs improvement, and it seems at times during his freshman year that he was kind out of it. But remember, he was just a freshman, and there's a reason why he went back to school for his sophomore year.

Looked it up and the guy in projected on different sites in the top ten Domination. I believe we are making the playoffs this season and so I believe our pick may be in the 16 and lower range. I like the prospect but I really really don't want to suck again next season if he drops that is another thing
