You guys failed to point out the fact I was right.

I know Dunleavy and his starting lineup will be the people who started last season. However, the lineup is always "wide open" and the people who covet the starting spot will have to earn it. Dunleavy also does not start rookies unless there is generally an injury taking place (Thornton didn't play until Tim Thomas got hurt/Gordon didn't start until Mobley was traded). Griffin will have to earn his way to the starting lineup. It won't just be given to him because Camby and Kaman are vets. Granted, it's going to be way easier for Griffin than Thornton and Gordon because he's the #1 pick but that's way it is in Dunleavy land.

I hope Dunleavy realizes during the preseason games that Blake needs to start over Camby. My preference is for Camby to be traded to Charlotte for Raja Bell and filler so DJ can backup Kaman and Craig Smith can backup Griffin. Novak and Skinner can play a few minutes here and there.

Griffin cannot come into the game with the team down by 10 cause it would be too late. He has to start and help the starters get a lead and the bench (Camby, Butler, Telfair, Smith, and DJ) will have to keep the lead. Griffin has to get minutes with Baron, Gordon, Thornton, and Kaman. No offense to Camby but he's not an offensive threat and at this stage of his career, he's no longer the defensive presence.

Don't mean to remind everyone of last year's nightmare but if you guys recall, our biggest issue was scoring droughts. With Blake in the starting lineup, we'll have 5 guys who are capable of scoring 20+ a night and will keep the opposing teams honest. There's a reason why Camby is always open for 20 footers.

I think the Clippers can definitely get more for Camby than Raja Bell and a filler. There are a lot of championship caliber teams who would want Camby based on what he can give them and his contract. I wouldn't trade him for a player like Raja who won't even get that many minutes.

I agree we can get more talent for camby but it will be someone with a contract that runs past this year. Bell will provide good perimeter defense and he can also hit the 3s. I also think he brings that toughness we lack. He will backup Gordon. I'd rather have him than Ricky or Collins at the 2.
