This was an amazing comeback! Almost everyone helped brought us a win. I loved Camby's play, Baron's leadership, etc. I sure hope gordon isn't hurt that bad :(

Now that was fun to watch. I love the excitement of the players and the bench. John Lucas was great.

I saw Gordon leave the game and after saw him seemingly walk fine to the locker room. I'm hoping it was a charlie horse. But if not, Clips don't play again until Wednesday. I think he should be fine.

We feel your pain. It's usually the Clippers who are on the losing side of games like this. We are probably just as shocked as you are disappointed!

I do feel like this may be the sort of game that can change the face of the season. We have some tougher games coming up, and maybe this one will give the guys the confidence they need to compete in and win some of those ones. I still feel confident that we can make a playoff push once Blake comes back. Hovering within 2 games of .500 is where I expected the team to be at this point, but as players get healthy, it's time to start stringin' some W's together. That said...hope EJ's not gonna miss any time with that hammy!

What a 4th quarter, go clips.

Love that pass from Camby to Thornton for the dunk, seemed like it was a very exciting game at the end

Damn what a win that was. I was at the game, pretty much hopeless in the fourth.

John Lucas has to get a lot of credit for the win. The last 6-7 minutes of the game he was the one talking to the players, getting them to play tough defense. Constantly giving tactics and telling them what to do.
Dunleavy wasn't doing anything, and thank god for that.
At one point I saw Lucas talking to Baron one on one, motivating him.

Can't believe the Grizz only scored 7 points in the 4th quarter. I couldn't watch the game, but either we played lock down d in that quarter, or the Grizz couldn't score a bucket to save their lives. Somehow I think it's the latter. *edit* I guess it was the D after all, lol.

It seems that for the most part, we've been playing decent ball for the last few games (except for that Indiana game). Camby's probably been the most consistent player, Baron seems to be improving his poor fg%, and hopefully Kaman and Thornton can be a little more consistent. I hope we can keep squeezing out some wins before we get Blake back. I think he'll put us over the hump for a lot of games against mid-tier opponents.

I think the Rockets are a team that we can beat, but it should be close either way. Rockets have a really good front court, but I think we have the edge on them in the back court. I think the key will be if Thornton has a good game or not. He can really help in winning the game, or be a big reason for us losing, if he has another bad shooting night.

Our defense came up huge. It was amazing and one of the best defensive performances I've seen (especially out of us). The crowd was rockin'. Lucas was hopping out on the court with one foot in a protective boot cheering this team on and firing them up. It was unbelievable. If you can, watch the replay.

I was fist watching the game on Prime Ticket and then headed out and was listening on the radio. I thought the game was basically over but I continued to listen anyways. I went crazy during the whole run in the car, it's a good thing that I was parked.

The keys that I pointed out were defense, rebounding, and limiting our turnovers. I think we did all 3, our defensive effort was outstanding in the fourth quarter. I really hope that we can keep that up for the rest of the season. I was thinking about going to the game but decided to help my girl friend instead. I guess I'll have to go to another game once I make it out here again.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Thanks for the clips guys. Hilarious to see Lucas getting all fired up with the walking boot on. I think he'd make a really good replacement for Dunleavy. And the part where Deandre lifts up Telfair, and then B Diddy headbutts Mardy in the chest, I couldn't stop laughing at that!

Marcus Camby wrote:On the impact of the crowd...
“This is the loudest I think it has ever been. The people that were in here, especially in the fourth quarter, were making a lot of noise. We were feeding off the crowd and we’re going to need them as we embark on the rest of the season.”

On the play of Eric Gordon...
“He’s a phenomenal player. I think he has the potential to be a special player; not just a good player, but a special player like the LeBrons, the Kobes, and the Carmelos. You’ll be mentioning Eric Gordon’s name for a long time.”

Coach Lionel Hollins wrote:On the Grizzlies' fourth quarter play...
“They played well, we have to give them their credit. However, if we had scored eleven more points we would have won the game. We only scored seven points in the fourth quarter, and that wasn’t all their defense, we didn’t execute. We stopped running and shooting, we went to mud. We were hoping that we would win instead of thinking and deciding that we would win.”

Marc Gasol wrote:On the loss to the Clippers...
“We couldn’t close it out, they executed better. We thought we had it and they played better in the fourth quarter and they won. We were relaxed in the fourth and they weren’t. It was more of our lack of playing then it was them. They played good defense but we need to be mentally tougher if we want to win. ”

full postgame report

Lawler's Law - Say What?

It was the greatest five minutes of basketball any Clippers team has ever played. It may well have been the best five minutes of basketball any NBA team has ever played. Say what? Hey, they missed only one shot and one free throw down the stretch. That was it. They shut out the opposition. How do you get any better than that?

Let’s review the video tape of the final five minutes of the Clippers stunning 98-88 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon. The Clips had trailed by 20 in the third quarter. They were still down by 16 going into the fourth. Almost seven minutes into that last period, they’d trimmed only four points off that deficit and still trailed 88-76. The final 5:07 belong in a Clipper time capsule.

First, Kaman scores on an awkward looking left-handed hook shot to cut it to 10. It’s still a 10 point difference with four minutes to go. This is where "Amazing" happened. Marcus Camby returned to the Clippers’ lineup. Gay misses two free throws. Thornton rebounds and outlets to Baron Davis, who drives and scores to cut it to 8 with 3:50 remaining. Kaman gets a steal and Gordon is fouled on a scoring drive to the basket. His free throw is good and the three-point play makes it a five point game. 3:28 remaining on the clock. Mayo misses; Camby rebounds; Thornton misses; Kaman rebounds and gets fouled. He makes both foul shots and it’s a three-point game with 2:43 to go. 12-seconds later, Camby steals the ball from the now shell-shocked Grizzlies. Thornton gets fouled and makes one of two from the line. Memphis 88, Clippers 86 with 2:25 on the clock. Camby blocks the next Memphis shot; Gordon rebounds and drives the length of the court to tie the score at 2:03! The Clippers had out-scored the Grizz 12-0 in three minutes of play. And they weren’t done yet.

They’d score 10 more points in the final 1:40 to log an improbable 98-88 victory. The final 5:07 showed the Clippers out-scoring Memphis 22-0! The Clippers made eight of their final nine shots, while the Grizzlies missed their last eight, turned the ball over three times in five minutes and had two shots blocked. It was positively glorious. The building hasn’t rocked like that for a Clippers game in a couple of seasons.

Thank you for the links --- I was really feeling bad at missing this game, and it was so exciting to see the fourth quarter that way.
Wow. Kaman and Camby and EJ --- everyone just seemed to elevate their game. Going from 20 down to winning by 10, thrills and chills and high drama. When these guys put themselves out, their D is a thinj of beauty.
