Very disappointed with the loss tonight. Eric Gordon and Blake need to stay healthy when they get back. Hope it is very soon too!

EJ is definitely a big factor for this team. I'm already getting tired of Ricky and Rasual. I'm glad they're on expiring contracts. Just bench them both and give Novak/Mardy their minutes...

and ruin their health?

it's laughable when a team depends this much on a soph and rookie.

Health is no excuse for a loss here. We are not a good "team" as long as Dun likes to run his iso offense with no movement.

Adelman is a fantastic coach. His offensive system consists of nonstop off and on ball movement and just looks so fluid. Kudos to him.

Makes no sense at all to rush them back.

We need them for more than just this season and rushing them back would hurt us in the future.

Anyways, we're a horrid rebounding team, defensively, and if it weren't for Camby and Thornton(offensively) crashing the boards, we'd easily get outrebounded every game.

Also, Butler just does nothing for us and the league knows it, even guarding him with 5'10 guys like Brooks. Maybe we should start looking around the league and identify teams wanting to free some cap space and willing to give up something usefull for his expiring contract.

Let's just hope EJ and Blake get healthy(but won't be rushed back) so we can finally space the floor and rebound the ball better.

Well, I taped the game and was about to sit down and watch it, but decided to check out what you guys said here first.
You talked me out of watching it at all. Evidently it will be very easy to find something better to do with that 2 1/2 hours today. I can't believe I couldn't get the last game on TV and yet I could get this one. :(

That was a first for me. 11-1 now.
**** that idiots coaching mentality. Unfortunately, not that many people joined to those of us chanting "Fire Dunleavy"

and Kaman?? he was playing against a guy 5 inches shorter than him and he settles for jumpers?!?

IMO, first trade Kaman for Tayshaun Prince...culture change in Clipperland.

2nd
This team needs things that Butler and Davis are not good at. .

This team is short an attacking scorer off the bench. Especially with Gordon down.

Forget signing old vets. They need energy and hunger. I suggest signing the best SG in the d-league. The best at getting to the line, making threes, bringing energy, and defending.

Then play him so he can be and do the things that are currently missing for this team to be consistently successful.

Not really since the amount of time a player has been in the league doesn't determine the talent they can provide for their team. EJ provides excellent shooting and solid defense. Blake provides the hustling we lack and rebounding we need. They got the talent, and we need it. That's all there is to it.

However, it would be stupid to rush them back as others have said. We're only 3 games under .500. There's no desperation at this point. Just a need for consistency.

I wish it was that. Instead, without those two, the Clippers lack focus, leadership, guts.

Well I can't say for certain if that's what they provide to the team. Focus perhaps could be right, but I don't see EJ as a leader. He seems too quiet for such a role, but he definitely is a great 2nd or 3rd option who can spread the floor to help the likes of Smith and Kaman down low. 5 of the 8 bad shooting nights Kaman has had is without EJ on the floor.

What frustrates me the most is the lack of outside shooting with this team. I don't care if Butler has been somewhat clutch for us this season. He's probably the most disappointing Clipper I've seen this year. It's like he took advice from Al last season and just decide to jack up ugly shots.

This was a good game for the first three quarters, but the fourth quarter was a complete collapse. We completely went away from what was working for us in the first three quarters. Thorton wasn't given the ball, and the rest of the team settled for jumpers. At least Thornton was aggressive. Instead, I see play after play, the Rockets drive it in, or at least attempt shots in the post, and it ends up in high percentage shots, and offensive rebounds for them. We get the ball, we settle for contested jumpers, or do too much ineffective passing, which results in forced shots.

I just don't understand why we went away from what was working. What can I say, the Rockets just did what it took to win. We didn't.
