97-86 Magic win. Sorry Numba2. A win would have put us at 9th, but this has us tied for 12th.

And that's why I'm not impressed with our veterans. They really should NOT be collapsing every time in the fourth. Might sounds crazy but we def. could use a guy like Stephen Jackson.

Ou playoff hopes keep coming and going with this loss beating the Spurs only gives us a small boost we need the Thunder to slump

Ya know, we lost so many games that we shouldn't have lost, we need to start winning games we're not supposed to win. Games like tonight. But, it's still relatively early...and it's not impossible to come back from 2.5 games out of the playoffs. We just need to start stringing wins together.

Because that's when teams start playing real defense.
Couple that with bad play calling and a team that has only one good shooter and you've got quite some trouble, especially against a team like the Magic, who you can hardly drive to the basket against.
Anyways, they're just too talented for us and if we don't get lucky and shots by guys like Butler aren't falling, then we just don't stand a chance against teams of that caliber.

just noticed this, i thought it was some other magic player, but watch at the 1:00 minute mark. Kaman goes around a half assed screen by BD and sees Jason Williams in front of him. Now Jwill is a nice player, but he's 6-1. So as a 7 footer, what do you do when you see him? Your pick up the ball OUTSIDE the bucket and throw up a half assed shot.
If only he would be 100% focussed and would play smart ball, we'd have an all star center. And this is a perfect example of why I hate to see him play.
Another question: Is it me or is Kaman among the worst help defenders out there? I see so many drives where Kaman just stops 5 feet from the attacking player: just stops trying.

That and the mass substitution patterns. As soon as we gained momentume to close out the 3rd, Dunleavy sits Baron, EJ and Kaman. How the hell does he expect us to score with our three best threats on the pine? And rather than immediately correct his mistake once momentum swings his way, he re-inserts Kaman, our worst decision maker with the lead back near double digits. WTF?

Re: Clippers(9-11) vs. Magics(16-4)
I just realized that the Grizzlies now have the same record as us, 9-12. It's going to be a real fight to get into the playoffs. I still haven't been all that impressed this season except for the fourth quarter of the Memphis game.

Is our next game really not until Sunday?

Appears so. Very awkward week, and yeah some "subpar" teams have really been stepping it up as of late. Grizzles have looked quite impressive since AI left. Even NYK has won 4 of the last 5.. Against teams like PHO, ATL, and POR.

I think that's the biggest surprise for me. Teams that were stinking it up last year are playing really decent this year, considering how they did last year. The Kings, the Grizzlies, the Thunder... But then again, you can say that we improved, when you look at our record last year.
It's going to be tough fighting for a playoff spot, even with Blake. I still think it's possible that we can "figure it out" after all-star break and clinch the 8th.
