I'll vote for the person with the better dunk!

Do you think DeRozan would do one of top 3 dunks in the dunk-in? This could set the bar for the following night, putting more pressure on Wallace, Brown, Robinson. Even though that puts more pressure on himself.

You want to save your best dunks for later, unless it looks like you may have an early exit.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I wish the dunk contest would go back to being 8 participants. I think that would bring back some of the anticipation and hype. With only for participants, it's a lot easier to walk away disappointed.

Agreed, there used to be so many people in the contest, now there is only four. I will only have interest in this year's dunk contest if EJ is in it.

I think they reduced the number of participants because as time goes on, fewer "new" dunks can be done. We've pretty much seen everything that can be done. Now it's all just variations of dunks now. If they brought in 8 participants, I think we would be seeing a lot of the same dunks, because there's really nothing left that we haven't seen. Back in the 90's, a simple under between the legs dunk would be getting 10's. Nowadays, that would get you an 8, maybe a 9 if it was spectacular.

Of course, it would be great if they brought it back to 8. A great dunk is a great dunk, regardless if it's been done before. And I definitely know what you mean about walking away disappointed. 4 is just not enough, especially if fans can't choose who gets to participates. I'm glad there's no more Chris Anderson, but come on, Nate again?

Some of the funniest dunk attempts I remember was Michael Finley's blown cartwheel dunk, and when Baron Davis did the headband over the eyes dunk, and you could hear him saying, "I can't see!", and him trying to line up small holes in the headband with his eyes.

I agree that there isn't much that we haven't already seen, but I think that there is still creativity being shown here and there (e.g. Iggy & Howard). 8 may be too many, but 4 leaves a lot to be desired when they don't really stand out or they can't complete a dunk after so many failed attempts. Last year we had to vote for the 4th based on a little highlight reel/promo, and this year we watch a mini-dunk off during the rookie game. I'd rather they let them all go to the big dance.

The big names are too worried about their reps, and either don't participate or they are simply one and done. The best of the best should come out and put on a show if they can.
