"Kaman Surprised To Still Be A Clipper"

"I'm surprised I'm still here. I'm a creature of habit and I hate change. I hate changing stuff but also sometimes there's a need to change," said Chris. "It's just interesting this will be my eighth year as a Clipper. I've seen guys come and go and I'm the last person left after seven years going into my eighth. I've had some great teammates who I've really admired and I've learned a lot from a lot of guys and I'm happy to have been a apart of all that. Ultimately it's about winning basketball games and we've got to get our team on the right track and it's going to take a lot of work."

Chris worked hard over the summer, after taking some time off to get married and honeymoon in Hawaii.

The team has always praised his offseason conditioning. He did his best to work on some of his areas of weakness.

"With double teams, I struggle. I pass the ball out of the post. I turn the ball over too much. Free throws and mental lapses," said Kaman. "There's different areas where I need improvement and I know that and I'm willing to learn and try to get better at it.

"Keep myself balanced," continued the Clipper center. "There are little tweaks - I'd lean a little bit too much or stand on one leg instead of two, just little things in the back of your mind to focus on."

That was a nice interview with Chris, good to see him acknowledge his weaknesses and work on improving them.

I got annoyed with Chris a lot during last season but I have to say he has always worked hard in the off season since Ive been a Clipper follower. Also he has looked good so far in camp and is saying all the right things. Got to give the man some props.
