I would like to hear Aminu actually do something constructive for a change. The main thing which has bugged me with him so far is the body language and lack of rebounds/steals/blocks. I didn't really expect him to be up to much on offense.

51-47 Jazz at the half. Davis has been encouraging from the 3-point line this offseason. He is 2-2 tonight. 8 points & 7 assists tonight. Griffin having a ho hum game so far with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 4 turnovers and 3 fouls.

All these turnovers are killing me. If there is one thing I hate in a basketball game is turnovers.

is useless...

To be honest I think its clean VDN doesn't think Aminu can contribute to the team yet. Therefore he would rather take a look at the guys who he thinks will make up the rotation.

Jazz win 103-91. Clippers will play the loser of the Lakers and Nuggets. Nuggets will be without Melo for their game against the Lakers. Gordon has got to make his free-throws. That's bugging me. He finished with 23 points and was the game's high scorer. We can't afford to give up easy points like that. Griffin rebounded nicely after the rough start. At one point he was 3 for 9, but hit 5 of his last 6 shots to finish with 17 points (8-15 shooting), 14 rebounds and 3 steals. I read that he took another hard foul and had to get checked out by the trainer. He then re-entered the game threw down a couple dunks and picked up a few more rebounds, so he should be OK. The team had 28 turnovers and sent the Jazz to the line 31 times to our 17. We shot well from the perimeter and the field as a whole, but the turnovers and fouls are hard to overcome. These guys have a week and a half to get their act together or the start of the season is going to be rough. Also, I really do hope we continue to pursue options at the 5. I'm not feeling Collins.

Disappointing. Looking at the box score, I'm surprised we lost by 12 to the Jazz without both Williams and Okur. The amount of turnovers was just sickening. I checked on Yahoo, and last year we were tied with the Charlotte for second highest turnovers per game, at 14.9. We had 28 :o

I really hope we're just playing a little more reckless than usual, and that VDN will have the team playing the right way at the end of all this, because I'd hate for the team to just limp in to the regular season continuing to play this sloppy basketball.

Turnovers killed us, not that i saw the full game but on the games play-by-play its just turnover after turnover for us, i thought we could've easily had that game with Dwill and Okur out, guess not.

I don't understand the point of not playing Aminu/Blakely/Warren/Bledsoe with extended minutes, wouldn't you want to see what the rooks can do to give them a bit of confidence as well? its pre-season... don't get that at all. Aminu has showed promise in some games, the rest haven't had a chance. I dont get why you wouldn't just put them out for a lot of minutes..

Btw didn't see that Griffin dunk, that was just awesome.

Because you have to remember some of the other guys are new to the team and the coaching is completely new. That means all the guys from last year have to get used to the new system as well. Therefore its in the teams best interest to get the guys who will actually play during the season some experience of the new system and new role players in a somewhat competitive game.

He obviously doesn't feel like the rookies are ready to contribute. From what I've seen there is no way the rookies are going to play much if at all at the start of the season. When Aminu has received minutes such as today he didn't register a single positive stat. I mean if his shot isn't going down you still expect rebounds. He simply isn't ready for the pace of the NBA. Thats not something some preseason is going solve.

You expect if the other guys start playing properly and VDN feels confident they are comfortable with the new system I am sure you will see the vets rested in the later preseason games and the rookies get some extended minutes. But right now, 28 turnovers is testament to the fact the main guys for us need more time playing together, that comes before the rookies getting time.

Nah your completely right actually, i wasn't thinking about the whole new coach and new system thing, some good points you've made there to get me to understand why the rookies aren't involved so much, i mean, i'd still like to see all of them get more minutes but first things first, getting the main guys used to the new system.

Does anyone know if today's game will be on TV?
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
