Blake Griffin - All Star?

Post#1 » by clippermitch » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:24 am

He's got the numbers (only 1 of 3 in the league averaging 20/10) and he's very popular. The only thing against him right now is the team's record.

He may be able to slip in like Kaman did last year if there are injuries. But yeah if that doesn't happen then I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get in due to the record.

He's certainly playing at an All Star level but it's tough for any rookie to make the big game, not even Lebron made it back in his first year. I think people are going to hold the Clippers record against him, saying he's putting up good numbers on a bad team thing..

Am I the only one who wants Gordon to be an all-star this year? Hes avg 24.3 ppg.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Yea, I'd rather have Gordon on the all-star game. Griffin should dunk on all those sophomores in the rookie game which will be like watching an NBA Jam game for him.

Gordon and Griffin are playing great. I believe that they are both playing like all stars, if we have a winning record then they both can make it. Griffin has the skill and popularity to make it, but we just don't have the record.

I did have the thought that if we had a winning record that Gordon and Griffin would be strong candidates to make the all star team. I think they will participate in future all star games.

The squad needs wins. Thats a small percentage of what they look at. But with Griffin's popularity growing, he might even get voted in by the fans. so go VOTE! :)

Based on individual performances, Griffin and EJ would be deserving All-Star candidates, but a team winning percentage that is lower than Gordon's current 3 point percentage is not going to get it done. If the team can put up some wins when Kaman and Baron come back (with Griffin and Gordon still putting up great numbers), then there chances could improve.

I do have to say that I am interested in seeing how many votes Griffin gets. He does have a lot of competition at the forward spot with the likes of Durant, Dirk, Melo, Gasol, Duncan, etc., but he is very popular.

Duncans my boy and I vote for him every year. However Griffin is just a baller and he beat the Spurs tonight. Dirk and griffin for me. I'm sure alot of fans along the league are going to be voting in Griffin.

Last 6 :

30 pts, 14 reb, 5 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk, 60% fg, 63% ft

Clippers record: 3-3.

I think he'll make it.

He's really stepped up his game. I knew that we were winning more but I didn't realize we were 3-3 in our last 6 games. If we can get up our win total Griffin will have a better shot.

I think Griffin's more of a game dunker than a dunk contest guy. But I haven't seen what he can do in practice, so it's possible he's got some tricks up his sleeve.

I agree. He's more of a power dunker than a finesse dunker, which goes further in a dunk contest where it is all about style and creativity. He can do a few things though.
