Coook Suspended

Post#1 » by Forte IV » Tue Dec 7, 2010 2:13 am

Cook suspended 2 games for his weak little push. Andre Miller got suspended one game.

Brand did the same thing and only got 1 game. Miller is a little pansy and deserves his suspension. Had Blake took a running start and shoved Miller in similar fashion, Miller would be missing a lot more than 1 game.

I understand he may not have liked the pushing and shoving that took place earlier, but when you are a guard in with the trees, you need to be prepared for potentially receiving more contact. Don't try act hard when you come in with a running start to push a player with his back toward you. That's weak.

Obviously that Przybilla guy exaggerated his fall. It's not like he needed stiches. They just made Cook want to retire again maybe. Good freaking job NBA. Can't show passion for the game and now they can't guard their man... Might as well just play around the world.

Not surprised that he got suspended, but 2 games seems excessive. Glad miller got suspended, i can't believe there wasn't even a foul called when he tackled blake :/. oh well, big brother is watching out ^^;

I didn't think Cook deserved a flagrant 2 and I don't think he deserves a suspension. The push wasn't as bad as the NBA is making it out to be. We will be without Cook for 1 more game, it's too bad because Cook has found his shot.

Thanks mk for finding the videos. I tried for a while after the game and couldn't find anything on YouTube. That was a real cheap shot by Miller. I'm afraid Blake Griffin might eventually get injured because teams are really trying to take him out with stuff like this.

wow, that first video was definitely made by a blazers fan. how can anyone complain about the contact miller received in the paint and actually use that to justify the retaliation? boxing out usually involves a lot of grabbing and shoving that doesn't get called. when you're a 6'2" guard trying to box out a strong post player, those situations happen.

Seriously, BG was bumping Miller to get better post position for the rebound and probably would have gotten an over-the-top foul if he ended up with the rebound. Miller's foul was a straight blind side shot in no relation to the play that was going on.

You don't gain position by shoving in the back. Welcome to the NBA rook.

Watch a game. If you want to bang with the big boys in the paint, then you are susceptible to get pushed around. Blake is thinking about getting the basketball. Miller is thinking about pushing Griffin from behind, because his feelings got hurt. Griffin has been abused far more than what he gave to Miller. Miller is the 12-year veteran and ought to show a little more composure. Griffin has shown maturity with any bump that he has taken in the league and knows how to keep his cool. I respect that. The treatment that he has gotten would push a lesser man over the edge, and that was shown from both teams on Sunday night.

I'm unbiased because I'm neither a Clippers or Trailblazers fan. Miller is the crafty 12-year veteran who beat his opponent to the spot. The first push, Miller boxed out Griffin and the second, nobody boxed out Miller. When you have to 2 hand push on the back, it's because your playing out of position as Griffin. Surprised that neither players were called for any of those obvious fouls.

Who the hell is Griffin? Above all he's a rook. Just like all the players that came before him, he has to earn respect in this league. Just because he's Blake Griffin with nothing to show for he demands respect? Please...

Pushing and shoving goes on in the paint all the time in the league and is not called. Whether it is right or wrong to push around in the paint is a different story. It has nothing to do with him being Blake Griffin. It was a cheap move on Miller's part whether it was Blake or any other player.

Blake has received much harder contact than what Andre Miller received in the game. Blake keeps his composure and controls his emotions. Miller did not and that is why he was suspended. If you want to man up, then man up. Get your "licks in" that way. If you want to take a running start and shove somebody in the back, then that is weak any way you look at it.

Kinda sad that he wasn't even called for a foul on that play. Miller's a twat anyways. Was a bitch for the one year he was a part of the team, and is still a bitch even to this day. Ranks up there with Melo on my book.

just because someone beats you to the spot and boxes you out doesn't mean you give up on the play. you constantly fight for better position and that requires a lot of shoving and hip-checking. if you can't handle the pressure, don't try to box out a bigger player and stay outside of the danger zone. if you want to retaliate over a perceived foul, then do it within the confines of the rules. of course he' going to get pushed around in there. it's a competitive game and players want the ball. i like miller and i still have a lot of respect for him as a player even after this incident but you can't justify that cheap shot, at all. griffin's so-called shoves are standard stuff, except miller just happens to be a smaller player who likes to fight for rebounds. he definitely lost his cool here because he doesn't have a history of this kind of behavior.

i have no clue what this "who does this rookie think he is?!" sentiment is coming from. are you suggesting that he shouldn't play as hard around veteran players as to not hurt their feelings? that he shouldn't try too much at this stage of his career due to some arbitrary label? it's not like he has a bad media image either. he's a quiet guy on and off the court. really, it's strange. the only thing i can think of is that he's playing extraordinary well as a rookie and he's making some players and to a lesser extent, fans jealous.

That was a cheap shot, totally uncalled for. I'm sure every team discusses how they can get Blake off of his game. Every team is going to try to frustrate and anger Blake. The good thing is that Blake has kept his composure.

That was straight up dirty. I'm surprised Blake hasn't retaliated. Pryzbilla and Camby got him too.

Oh well, I hope Blake takes it out on the Lakers. Time to send a message!!!
