How about this for a Melo trade scenario? I believe it has something for all parties.

Denver In: Aminu, Clippers 2011 1st, 14.9M TE
Denver Out: Melo

Cleveland In: Jared Jefferies, Brad Miller, Houston’s 2011 1st
Cleveland Out: 6.9M TE, 4.4M TE

Houston In: Kaman
Houston Out: Jared Jefferies, Brad Miller & Houston’s 2011 1st

LAC In: Melo
LAC Out: Kaman, Aminu and 2011 1st.

Why for Denver: This might be the best deal on the table. They get a young prospect, a 2011 pick, a huge TPE and assuming they did it at the half way point of the season, 33.6 million dollars of instant savings based on that they no longer have to pay the luxury tax or Melo’s remaining salary.

Why for Cleveland: They use their TPE to absorb a center, which they need, and an expiring contract. They get a 2011 pick for their trouble.

Why for Houston: Houston retools on the fly and gets a true center to help shore up their middle. They can continue to make a playoff push or use Kaman as a trade chip next year. Either way its likely better than what they can get with the draft pick.

Why for the Clippers: We get a 3rd star to create our own big 3 for LA.

I don't want any part of a trade for Carmelo Anthony. Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole after the way they played around with New Jersey.

I think the only hangup would be if DET isn't willing to give up that 1st. Maybe it becomes 2 seconds or we throw a 2nd in. We can't add another 1st since we owe one to OKC.

If Detroit wasn't willing to do Prince for Kaman, why would they do Prince plus 1st for Kaman? They do not want Kaman on the current salary.
