How will the defense be with this team?

So, obviously, our roster looks great offensively, but I'm not as sure how our defense will be. IMO, we are pretty solid at the Center with DeAndre Jordan and the defensive presence that he brings, as well as the point guard position, with Chris Paul. I'm not as sure about how the defense will play at the 2, 3 and 4 positions.

Griffin has said that he worked very hard on his defense in this last off-season, so hopefully we'll see evidence of that; I think Caron is a very nice player, but don't know that he's that good defensively; Lastly, with the shooting guard position, EJ was always a very good defender so there might be a drop-off there with Mo/Billups/Foye.

Any thoughts?

Butler is a great defender. Paul is a pesky defender. Deandre is good. Griffin can improve a lot. If we could somehow get Afflalo, we'd be deadly.

VDN had an interesting system in Chicago, where the players are attacking then settle into a zonish -Man defense. I think we will improve every game, but we do need one defensive stopper.
I think this team will play hungry & will surprise folks on "D"

If you can play a squad of:

Paul
Garcia
Butler
Griffin
Deandre

opposing teams will struggle.

Think we are a team that plays the passing lanes looking for the fastbreak buckets I see dribble penetrations be less likely. One downfall I may see is we may slope some open 3'ssome alot trying to recover.

I think the defense will be trash, but it'll be better than Phoenix's defense during Steve Nash - Stoudemire teams. And I think Chris Paul - Blake Griffin is a BETTER combo

So what I'm saying is, get ready to make a playoff run guys

that francisco garcia idea is genius. he's stuck in limbo in sacto with all the guards they've acquired. solid defender and shooter.

Our defense just needs to be average. But over the next 3 years or so, we have at least the potential to be very good with 2 athletic big men.

I believe we just need a 2 guard that plays solid defense. I don't think that we will be too bad, but we will have to wait and see how it turns out.

so the assumption is billups cant play at the 2? hes big and strong and has lost some speed so guarding the 2 might be more fitting.

We'll have to see how he has improved. We will have to come up with a good defensive scheme. However I do think we will have decent defenders in our starting lineup.
