great win but i hope this team doesn't rely on paul catching on fire every night to cover up their mistakes. they gave up way too many offensive boards, and jordan/griffin missed a few too many free throws. to be fair though, warriors do have a pretty beefy frontcourt and mark jackson seems like he's really emphasizing defense to his players.

but lots of positives too. clippers had 10 turnovers vs 16 turnovers for the warriors. passed the ball well. forced a lot of tough shots. and jordan didn't even get into foul trouble! now they just need another bigman to fillout the roster and i think they'll be set. mo looked kinda unhappy but he pretty much excelled in his role. i sincerely hope he's willing to stick it through, because on the surface it looks like he really doesn't want to.

We were getting killed on the glass but only lost the rebounding battle 43-48. Butler had a quiet dbl-dbl. 11 & 10 with 4 assists. Very nice game from him!

I was concerned about the end of games. Crunch time minutes are going to be the biggest adjustment for him to make. It has to be tough when you're used to help close out a game and suddenly you're on the bench watching and are only able to help by cheering on your teammates. Just imagine when it's playoff time....

I didn't like how Vinny split up the minutes today. I think one of the biggest things for this team will be keeping everyone happy, and especially Mo Williams off the bench. In all honesty, unless there's a 3 guard lineup on the floor, I don't think Randy Foye should be playing.

The 96 minutes at PG/SG need to be split between Chris/Billups/Mo, and in a situation like that, Chris can play 36 MPG, and Chauncey and Mo can still both get 30 MPG each.

Randy Foye is just not superior enough defensively to them, and his offense is worse in every aspect. The FO should aggressively be looking to move Foye for big man depth as he's the most expendable of all three guys, and because Brian Cook obviously is not the best guy to have playing C.

Even with that, Mo will have to get used to being on the bench for the last 5 minutes of the game, because that's when the best lineup needs to be on, and the best lineup includes Caron Butler.

Some frustrating moments tonight, but if we're complaining after a 19 point win, I guess things are really change in Clipperland.

Luckily got too watch the clips in action tonight on tv, noticed quite a few points that I thought i'd share..

- one, whats up with Billups looking like our main option on offence taking all the low shot clock and low percentage shots, almost looked like he was forcing it out there at times, don't like that.

- like the miami heat last season, time will be our friend, except unlike miami you can already tell we know how to play with eachother, we need to gel as a team and once the chemistry is really up there itll be a lot better (we showed glimpses of it tonight)

- CP3 didn't really look for his shot until it meant buisness and you could tell he carried us in the 4th

- Evans is going to help a lot rebounding and playing tough down low

- Jordan is already a bigger factor that people realise IMO. Hack-a-shaq type techniques? teams are really paying attention to what he does out there... even if it is negative :P

- A win's a win.

- we played terrible for most of the game and still beat a quality opponent.

- it was our first game and we all gel really well.

Knicks fan here.

Just wanted to say congrats on the win and that I am genuinely happy for you Clips fans. I'm happy you have a good team to root for now. As a die hard Knick fan since the early 90's, I've gone through a decade of failure so I can relate. Of all teams (besides NYK), I'm happy Paul went to LAC. It is about time you Clips diehards got what you deserve in having a fun and potentially contending team. I look forward to watching the Clips now and I really could not be happier to a fanbase that really deserved to have a winner. Good luck this season.

One thing I really liked was DeAndre keeping the ball in play when he made blocks. That increases the value of your blocks so much more than swatting them out of bounds even if one "looks cooler" than the other/

I think Chauncey's play last night in terms of shot attempts was uncharacteristic of him. I mentioned on the GB that his career high is 14 FGA/36 minutes, he took 19 last night in 38 minutes along with 6 FTA's. I don't expect to see that continue. I'll only start worrying if by game 10, 15, 20+, Billups is averaging 15+ FGA/G.

After one game, I can comment on the game, but not on how the team will progress going forward.

I didn't get a chance to watch most of the game live due to christmas dinner events, but I was able to watch on dvr.

Overall, I think it was a decent start. A good win on a day that we didn't click on all cylinders. Though, we do still have some glaring holes that good teams will exploit.

1. We should really focus on playing DJ at the beginning of quarters, and give him his rest if/when we get in the penalty at the end of quarters. He is a real difference maker on the defensive end, but the Hack-a-DJ was holding up the entire offense (and the game) during that span.

2. Not surprising, but we need more depth up front behind DJ and Blake. Yes, Evans will help, but we really need either Thompkins to step up or sign another big body. It was fine to go small against the Warriors, but that won't fly against many other teams.

3. We need a wing who can take the ball to the hole and get to the rim. We just simply don't have that right now, other than CP3 occasionally and Bledsoe when he gets back. That would give our offense another important dimension.

With all that said, there are a lot of good things to take from this game. CP3 is our go to guy down the stretch, with Chauncey available as well. Just like they said on SportsCenter just now, Caron is going to be the favorite for Comeback POY. Blake and DJ will only get better with the new team and getting the ball from CP3. I think Mo is going to fill into the 6th man role fine, and I like how Cookie played last night. Come off the bench, make a few threes, and make it look like nothing. Don't try to do too much!

Overall, good win, with plenty to work on moving forward.

Thanks man. Appreciate it and good luck to the Knicks, one of the teams I will be following this season. Also interested to see how Baron does with you guys. If healthy, watch for lobs to Melo, Amare, and Chandler all season long. He'll get them easy points.
