VDN always runs that throw the ball into the post and try to throw it back out for a three, does he not have any other play but that?

Disappointing loss. We don't score in the final 3 minutes and commit too many turnovers. I didn't like our defense for the majority of the game and we took too many jump shots. I'm going to take some nyquil and hope i forget about this loss.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Well earned victory by the Warriors. Clippers couldn't execute down the stretch. We gave up too many second/third chance opportunities. Both Blake and Paul failed to produce in the 2nd half. They scored about 8 points combined in the 2nd half. 17 turnovers to their 9. Recipe for a loss.

It's ridiculous, it's either that or "Paul make something happen".

you know what guys?
when was the last time we complained about the clips going 19-11? never! this was truly a disappointing back to back loss but we have come a long way still. i still expect this team to finish the season strong and stay top 3-4 seed for the playoffs.
good night brothers in clipper red white and blue

Size at the 2 is the least of the issues against a team like the Warriors. Even if we got another 6'4 guy like Foye, if he could consistently make his shots, it would be a whole different story. I'm not pinning this on Foye, but for him, it wasn't a size problem, just an inability to make shots problem.kombayn wrote:Wow, Blake didn't even contest that shot. Terrible loss tonight. We need to add size at the two immediately.
Offensively, Paul and Blake were non-existent in the second half. Overall, offensively, the offense was super stagnant in this game. VDN had sets where the defense had to do so little work, just stand around and wait for a post up and then defend on guy. Just a lot of issues. Poor rotations defensively, etc, etc...
Lastly, the Warriors came out to play and executed better, and hence they got the win

I agree we do need another player with size. We need a scorer that can cover the 2-3 that can also defend.

Re: Game #30: Clippers(19-10) @ Warriors(11-17)
Great, here I go again. Losing two game threads in a row and now being 3-5...
Anyways, as always, we didn't have a real offensive game plan and if Paul can't create some magic in the 4th we're not having great chances at winning games.
Also, great game by Mo, but we need at least four guys scoring in double figures to be a winning team.

Guy taller than 6'4 would help who can shoot CONSISTENTLY

Re: Game #30: Clippers(19-10) @ Warriors(11-17)
Foye isn't even supposed to be such a poor and inconsistent shooter. Even in the games he does well, I cring at the fact that he isn't set up to get more shots in motion, and more catch and shoot out of the offense, he gets catch and shoot off others creation, or he's creating his own shots. While he can do that, he's nowhere near elite at it, and a great way to dip efficiency and consistency is to shoot contested long shots.
I think over the whole season, I've seen a guard come off a baseline screen, receive the ball in mid range area, then drive and attack the basket. That should be run every game (and a play that should be a constant for Butler), but it happens so little. A team where the perimeter guys (outside of Billups) don't draw fouls needs some plays that allows them to get to the basket and have that opputtunuty.
