we don't have a 1st tho. Minny's 1st went to the hornets in CP3 deal, and our 1st was traded to the thunder then to boston with top 10 protected. we ain't anywhere near top 10 in lottery with 3rd best record in western conference, so we won't be able to keep the pick.

i think beasley could be a great guy off the bench to just score his ass off but he will most likely want to start somewhere else and not take his option next year. kinda like Mo's situation. but the idea of swapping gomes for beasley is fantastic even with a 1st going their way, if boston decides not to use the pick this year and wait. i think they have the right to choose as we did with Minny's pick in cassel trade.
ehhhhh f it.

We shouldn't trade for him and don't have what it takes. I'm surprised the Lakers turned down a trade of Beasley for a 1st rounder! It really shows how much the gap has been closed if they are not trading for the exact type of player they need because of tax issues.

Well I guess I should read the thread first  That being the case I see the Lakers still adding him.

Beasley makes no sense for us at all.

He's a volume scorer on pretty mediocre shooting percentages and also a tweener forward that can't defend small forwards, as he's too slow footed, or power forwards, as they'll just overpower him.

There aren't too many minutes for such a guy on our team(thanks to Blake, Caron, Martin and Evans) and he's also a RFA this summer, looking for a big contract that would put us over the cap and kill any flexibility to fill the other holes on the roster for next season.

They'll also be looking for first rounder/s and we can't trade one before 2014, which makes no sense at all.

Beasley exploded yesterday, but in general he's not a very efficient scorer. Caron is not a full time SG, and defensively, playing Beasley and Butler at the 2 and 3 isn't the best option.

Like mentioned, 1sts aren't available, butmI don't think just jumping on anyone is smart, moves should be made to build a team that compliments each other on both sides of the ball.

They got him for two second rounder and now they are trying to trade him for two first. We can want till the summer to see if we can make a run at him or maybe someone better.

Old PSD members might remember when I wanted to jump in on him when Miami was looking to dump salary. I would still do it, as long as the price is not too high. And the way things are looking, a 2014 1st will basically be a 2nd round pick! And if he doesn't work out, he can be a trade chip

Beasley is a train wreck, he is not worth 2 1stRders. We should be able to find someone in the next 10 days. What about Lamar coming back to the Clips?

I too was thinking about bringing Lamar back to the Clippers but I've realized that move would back fire on us so fast that its not even worth signing the guy to a vet's minimum. Just too much baggage right now and it'll create too many distractions with him returning to LA.

Besides, he doesn't want to come to the Clippers anyway.

I think we need to look at other players Beasley is not someone who is going to help us moving forward, He doesn't play any defense. It would be bad for use to give up future firsts for him to have him walk or hurt our cap space.

Just my 2 cents.
Beasley went from atrocious defensively last year to almost average this year under Adelman. I don't know why people think he's a cancer, he's the most liked player on our team. Even Darko likes him, and he doesn't like anyone. He works hard and he's coachable, his previous problems are due to bipolar or severe depression and it seems like he's being treated/medicated now.

Beasley is too inconsistent to be a good starter, but he makes a pretty stellar 6th man. And he's taken his bench role with a smile in Minnesota. I personally expect the Wolves to resign him to something like a 3 year, $20 mil deal with a team option on a 4th year.

But that's just my opinion.
