Winning streak.
If the Clippers go 4-0 this week they could break their consecutive win streak of 8 since leaving Buffalo. They had winning streaks of 8 in San Diego and Los Angeles. 11 straight wins as the Braves in Buffalo. Currently they have 6 straight wins. They just beat the Mav's. They have a big game against the lakers on Wednesday and two at home and away against the Kings. I think they can do it.

Re: Winning streak.
The guys have played phenomenally outside of the Portland game that we barely won. A couple of themes that have occurred during the win streak are Chauncey being back on the bench for home games, no Mo, better tempo, more defensive activity and players like Foye stepping up. Will Mo coming back change things? I like him, but we may be better off if he opts out this summer (or is traded).

Re: Winning streak.
I've also noticed that the defense has been better since Mo has been out. Mo can't guard SGs. I'm happy that we've won 6 in a row and it's the best winning streak I've enjoyed as a Clipper fan. I've always said defense is key, so let's keep it up. We'll have to work Mo back in some how when he's healthy. We do have a lot of guards, I don't think its a bad problem to have since we do struggle to score at times.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I think this is one aspect that is overlooked. The Clippers worst defensive lineup that has played significant minutes is Paul-Williams-Butler-Griffin-Jordan. That lineup gives up 1.19 PPP. Replace Mo with Foye, and it's 1.04 PPP. Replace Mo with Billups and it's 0.98 PPP. So there's actually a significant drop-off defensively when Mo is playing SG, though that lineup fares very well offensively.

I'm starting to believe that we are better off w/o Mo on this team. Young is the perfect height and talent for that 2 spot.

Re: Winning streak.
Defensively, there is a big difference. Mo has had to play the 2 position in tiny backcourts consisting of players 6'1 or shorter often with Foye playing SF in the infamous 3 guard line-up. A 3 guard line-up consisting of Foye and Young at the 2 & 3 gives us much better size and a greater effort on the defensive end. If Mo's shot isn't falling, then he's a liability out there in most other aspects of the game.

Yea, the major problem is obviously that Mo has the talent level that requires you to play him 25+ MPG, and with Paul playing 36 MPG, at least the equivalent of one quarter a game requires Mo Williams to be on the floor with Paul, so that means someone is guarding a bigger player.
It is a little saddening that if he doesn't return in the off-season, he will be lost for nothing, but honestly, I'm content with re-signing Foye and Young, and if Mo picks up his option, looking to trade him in thee summer.

I thought that Nick Young the last 2'-3 games has been looking for his shot, I think that this is good news for Clipper Nation. Young is explosive, but he has seemed hesitant while trying to fit in w/ a new team.If Young continues to knock down jumpers,3's & Drive, it will open the floor for his team mates. Like #2 said, this is the best winning record I have witnessed in my 12 years as a Clipper fan.

Funny I've been a fan since 1989 and according to Madelyn Burke this is the longest winning streak since 1992 but I cant remember a winning streak bigger than this one.

yeah that sure is the brutal honest truth, and i'm sure Mo knows that himself, but 8.5 mil he won't get in the open market is a 8.5 million reasons why it is still right for him.
i say look for him to opt in and Neil to trade him immediately before the next season starts for whatever our needs are by then and maybe a pick.
ehhhhh f it.

Re: Winning streak.
Am sure Foye will be resigned. We have CP3 and Bledsoe. Leslie is a guard that can't dribble or shoot. If he doesn't improve or at least become a defensive specialist, I'd say let him go. I would try to keep Young, he shouldn't be that expensive. Mo is the odd man out. We have a second round pick in which we could draft a bigger 2 guard who probably would not contribute much (not a regular in the rotation), but we can develop for the future.

I'd expect Leslie and Thompkins to play in the summer league and hopefully put in a lot of work in the offseason. Leslie is definitely at risk of not making it out of training camp like Willie Warren who showed more imo. He needs to put a lot of work on his shooting in the summer, so that can bring something to the table besides his athleticism. He was a decent foul shooter in college (73.5% and 80.1% in his sophomore and junior seasons), but he's shooting 44.4% in the NBA and 42.9% in the D-League. Granted he's had 16 total attempts, but that's still terrible. He was a 33% 3 point shooter in college and he's a 33% shooter in the D-League. If you can be a good defensive presence and knock down the 3, then you will have a place in the NBA.
He was a small forward in college, but his height/size is going to force him to play at 2 guard position. When he got into games for us, all he was concerned about was dunking (which he was known for doing well), but he has to bring more to the table and I feel that is one reason why he's in the D-League. During the draft camp interviews, he came off as arrogant and disrespectful (complained about being compared to Tony Allen).

Re: Winning streak.
We'll need his offensive spark on Saturday. A bench rotation of Mo/Bled/Young can be extra potent if their shots are falling.
