Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
Probably three years of similar level of play then around 4-5+ years of elite play. Basically he has a long time left. He already isn't nearly as explosive as he was in his past. He is almost as effective though since he is playing a lot smarter and has improved his game. His game isn't predicated around athleticism.

Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
Typically a player is in their prime from 27-32 give or take a year. I think he can still play at a high level beyond that because of what's between his ears. After dealing with the knee issue, he's made adjustments to his game where he doesn't have to rely on his body as much. This will keep him playing at a high level for quite some time.

He's one of those guys like Chauncey, there so intelligent on the court. I think we'll see Chris Paul playing like this for a while.
A interesting thing about Paul, I heard someone look over at his stats today, and they commented he only gets 8 pts, 10 assts (around that vs Bulls) and is considered the best point guard (by some people)
The thing with Chris Paul is he just wants to win, he could've easily popped more shots tonight and turned it up but his game is getting people involved, he could easily average 20+ PPG if he wanted but that's not him. He turns it on when he chooses, that alone is quite extraordinary. I love that there are players like that. It's not all about getting your averages, he just loves the game, his team mates and just wants to win.

Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
^Statistically he is easily the best PG in the league anyway and he hasn't stat padded nearly as much as some other PGs.
He has a PER of 26.6 atm. No other PG even comes close.
Most educated basketball fans know CP3 is the best PG.

Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
and we'll view him coming into camp out of shape last season as a product of the lockout right???????????
My hope is that he's elite like he is now until age 32....and then possibly, if he doesn't break down...still an awesome guy to have start at PG ages 32-37.
i figure if J. Kidd can hang around and still play defense.....
If Nash can hang around and be effective until 37/38 without playing defense, CP3 should be good until then given his body doesn't give up on him.

Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
He's 27 years old for the most part of this season. I think he can be elite till about 32 years old, which will be another 5 seasons after this year, and very, very good till about 34 years old. After that, he will still be a very good facilitator and floor manager, but might not be able to get to some of his spots and create the same type of separation as a scorer.

The way CP plays, he can play at an all-star level until he's 35. Similar to Nash.

I think he will be worth his Max Salary until he is 35, I still think we are under paying Chauncey & he hasn't suited up for almost a year. You can't teach leadership, we are so lucky to be Clipper fans right now.

Re: How many years of prime does CP3 have left?
I think he will have a long-term career trajectory like Jason Kidd, who is still effective and a significant part of the Knicks at age 39.
Basically you hand him a max contract right now with absolutely no doubts or reservations.

I see Paul having a Sam Cassell-esque career with that high bball iq of his.
