Re: Vinny's Fate
The only way I would encourage a coaching change is if we got JVG or someone like that, someone with a LOT of NBA cred. Otherwise you are risking more than you are gaining IMO.
This team is deep and fun to watch, but also has its limits (and I'm not talking the head coach.) This team will really hit its stride if Blake improves his offensive skills and DeAndre becomes a prime time center who plays real starter minutes. Until then I don't think it's quite a title contender anyway (but we're definitely close.) At least the type of team you pencil in every year for WCF.
The other thing is, I don't know that a JVG would even take a job after the previous HC got fired for winning 55 games. They would be too pissed off at the owner for doing that to a fellow HC (BTW we're currently on course to win 58 games...)
Finally, what has Vinny done so poorly this year? They haven't been perfect but no one is in a LONG 82 game season. The way the first and second teams have played off each other has been absolutely great IMO. This is not easy to manage with a lot of guys recently who could be getting more minutes on other teams. Even last year, Mo Williams bought in after he had worked hard all off-season to try to be 'the guy' to help take the team to the next level last year, only to be demoted for Chris Paul.

Re: Vinny's Fate
it is hard to play DJ with the game on the line in the 4th due to his south of the .500 line FT shooting. i do however think that we should play him a lot more 1st through 3rd. he should get 30 minutes and more per game. either take him our early and play him through the whole 2nd and 3rd quarter or let him play the whole first and rest him early in 2nd and play him rest of the way until 4th. if he is only playing 3 quarters, why not let him at least play those 3 quarters thoroughly? he will get plenty of rest later.
but it is hard to find extra playing time for bledsoe with CP3 and Crossover needing their minutes.

It's hard for him to play a full quarter at a high level without starting to have some lapses, and he's basically not playing a whole quarter like you said, so the minutes will be difficult to come by. The starters in genera haven't been playing much in the 4th, so it isn't even just him.

Re: Vinny's Fate
Struggles because Green and Butler have been trash. Jordan has been very consistent and productive this season his only true bad game was the Bobcats. There is a reason the Paul-Crawford-Barnes-Griffin-Jordan is our and was our best close out unit.
Vinny is just being a stubborn tight ass because Jordan did nothing to lose the job and every game where we go back to BG and CP3 in the 4th we get killed on the glass and lose some of the lead

If things continue the way that they are going, he'll be re-upped/extended. The players like playing for him, because he's not really restricting them. Barnes and Crawford have both recently said that Vinny is a large reason why they are here and why they are happy to be here.
On a veteran-laden team, it's for easier for him given his strengths and weaknesses.
If things take a turn in the opposite direction, then a change will be taken into consideration this summer and Paul will have a lot of say in whatever choice is made.

Re: Vinny's Fate
evaluating factors for a NBA HCs are,
1. X's and O's ------- vinny fails here
2. relate to players-- vinny is a champ
3. motivate players-- not sure
4. able to work with FO- failed miserably in chicago, became a champ here in clippernation
5. manage ego/playing time---- a champ.
i hated this guy for so long and still feel he isn't my personal choice for a HC, but he is leading the way of our winning streak and everybody is happy while sacrificing their game for the team. in the end, only thing that matters in pro sports is winning and i feel that vinny came a long way and still growing as a HC in NBA.

Re: Vinny's Fate
This team could have better X's and O's, but could not possibly have better team camaraderie and focus.
Turiaf threw down a dunk the other night, and all the starters on the bench starting jumping around and celebrating like Robert Sacre. That was pretty cool to watch.
If at the end of the season there is still a perceived weakness in strategy, it should be added to the coaching staff, rather than in a new replacement HC.

You're not the only one. I'm fine with him right now.
