MK's posts are the only thing that tells me anything about Karl.
then there's some stats...and some stuff about Seattle's pace or something....but nothing about the philosophy in Seattle.
so I was hoping someone would have a clear answer...a very CLEAR answer of what they expect from a George Karl hire.
something more than...."he's proven" or...he lost to this team when he wasn't supposed to in the playoffs.
What are the benefits of being coached by George Karl?

george karl is not a faithful of 1 particular offensive system such as shaw with triangle, or mike brown's princeton, or overload, or flex, or whatever. karl works around the strength of his team, as his sonic teams were average paced team of that era that utilized a great PG +PF combo. i would expect the same with our roster rather than running and gunning nuggets team, which imo is a genius move since his denver team was without a superstar to rely on iso, and playing mile high, other teams that are not used to the denver air, would be at disadvantage in a cardio battle against a younger team who make full time residency at that altitude.
i don't expect karl to lead the league in defensive ratings, but i expect him to be better across the board over vinny. to me, a veteran coach who have taken a PG +PF combo to the finals and is better than vinny in every aspect of the game, and is the one that is not hypothetical but available in reality right now, is the obvious option we should go after.

He will speed up this team, which will benefit Blake and Jordan offensively. Paul doesn't like to run, but he can do it if he really wants. Like he said, they run with a short clock in practice in order to play faster. His Denver teams haven't been the best on the defensive glass, but there's a mix of personell and philosophy. They were good in 10-11 and 11-12, but they might have leaked out and played too much small this year which didn't help. Hopefully they balance playing with some pace and controlling the defensive glass.
Denver DRB% Rank:
12-13: 27th
11-12: 9th
10-11: 5th
09-10: 26th
08-09: 23rd
07-08: 22nd
Defensively you'll see more of the same system, force turnovers, trap on pick and rolls, except he has been known to like to switch a lot, which is what the Clippers did in 11-12 and if made for an inferior defense, so I hope he changes that. If Bledsoe isn't traded, you will see him playing Paul and Bledsoe in the backcourt for extended minutes.

I think Shaw has been trying to tell people that he isn't a triangle coach, that's what he's been trying to prove lately. Karl has said he doesn't like to do to much work on plays, just give a lot of freedom offensively. Billups was quoted as saying they didn't have an inbounds play when he got there and he helped the team design some.

Re: What are the benefits of being coached by George Karl?
I asked Chauncey Billups about George Karl getting fired He brought up that Karl couldn't get out of the 1st round
"I was a little surprised by the timing of it,'' Billups told me about Karl being fired. "But you look at the whole big picture, when you can't get out of the first round, it's tough. It's tough.''
Karl failed to get out of the first round in eight of his nine Denver seasons. Billups was on the only Karl Denver team that did get out of the first round, making it to the West finals in 2009.
