Re: HOLD the Mayo
You can be knick & net fan. This dude is a fan of Cali bball. What's the big deal? It's not like he's a Celtic & Lakers fan? Dudewants to see his 2 home town teams do good. So what's the problem? Like he said it's easy to root for both since 1 sucked 26 out of the past 30 years. & That's includdddding first round exits.
Damn let the guy root for who he likes. You guys like act your too good for that.
ANYWAYS. Mayo has yet to play his best ball & next to CP3 he'd be better & help out blake & DJ.

Re: HOLD the Mayo
only those who have been faithful in a monogamous relationship can claim being through "thick and thin".
and judging by your harsh tone against our beloved clipper franchise, we are not even your "second wife" but more of a mistress who may look pretty but from a poor underclass.
you can cheer for whichever the team you'd like, as bandwagoners and other casual fans make up most of the NBA fan demographics, but do not insult those of us who have been in a beautiful, but enduring, trying and at times bleak monogamous fan hood with this clipper franchise as our one and only, by trying to pass as one of us. there is a reason why polygamists aren't respected by most.
again, I am not telling you what to do or who to like, that is your right. just don't expect the rest of us to respect you for it.

Re: HOLD the Mayo
Non Clipper fan please go.
Do you know what it's like being a Clipper fan?
Were you on the school yard with us before class? Lunch?
AOL chat rooms?
I don't think so. U dunno what we've been through.
Ur right. This isn't hatfields and mccoys.
More like Vito Andolini/Corleone coming back to Sicily to avenge his Father's death when he can finally do something about it.

Totally different from being all in on a team that just didn't make the playoffs.
It's just so much easier to go, "The Clippers didn't make it again. Oh well, time to watch my Lakers now."
That is not sticking with a team through thick and thin.
That's like saying you're with a friend through thick and thin, but on a saturday night, instead of being there for your friend that's sad at home, you just hang out with your other friend that's having fun at a party.
I see it more like this. I had season tickets and went to most games and even though in previous years we'd already be out of contention by the all star break, I'd still go to the games and if I didn't, I'd still watch them. While continuing to support my friend and trying to help him through the months of February-April, I realized he needed his space. In fact, he told me he pretty much forced me to give him his space (since he didn't make the playoffs). Sad for my friend, I'd go home pretty depressed, but I knew I couldn't beat myself up for it and be depressed because he's having a tough time and needs his space. So I'd go home and party with my other friends (the Lakers) since I still considered them my good friends. Yes I had a great time hanging out with them and loved all the celebrations, but I didn't forget about my other friend. I still always thought about that friend and waited until he was ready to talk about and address his issues (the offseason).
Cute story

Re: HOLD the Mayo
What would make the mayo deal a good one? i think mayo can still improve imo, especially with cp3 at the helm, there's no way he won't.
He played a pretty damn good season last year with a struggling mavs team.
15.3 ppg, 45% fg% on 12 attempts, 40% 3p% on 4 attempts, 82% ft%, 1.1 stls, 4.4 asts.
I think his defense is pretty deng good and it can only get better once everyone is on the same page.
and he's only 25...

Re: HOLD the Mayo
The thing is, we already have 3 guys that score in the 15-20 PPG range, we don't need one more. We don't need another guy who takes 13 shots a game, that's more than what Paul took last year. And we specially don't need it when we have to give up our only trade asset and have him eat a good chunk of our salary cap.
I still think it's a very very bad idea, unless we sign him unrestricteds for the MLE and he makes it absolutely clear that he'll buy into the team's mentality and not care for personal goals. And even then he wouldn't be my first option.

Re: HOLD the Mayo
I feel like we actually need 1 more wing scorer, someone who can create and ease pressure on CP3 and Blake Griffin because our half-court offense gets bogged down and we struggle late in the shot clock. I would love to add his stat line from last year, to this year's team.
Jamal Crawford is great but I like him coming off the bench. He was amazingly hot at the beginning of the year, but then came back down to his normal averages by year end (which is still nice of course.) Caron Butler is pretty good, but at this point in his career seems to mix in decent/good performances with invisible ones. At his age he's not quite able to carry a load every single game.
I would like OJ Mayo, but at the right price. Not sure I want to give up Bledsoe in a sign and trade for him.

I think that would solidify our wings, and Marion does so much more with his intangibles and defense that make him so valuable. I think OJ still has lots of potential to improve and possibly break out which keeps me excited about him.
This I would do, I really like Matrix but I haven't seen him in awhile so not sure how he's holding up.

It would be pretty awesome if we are able to get Mayo in exchange for dumping Butler. Realistically I don't see it happening though.. I guess if we sent them a 2017 1st...

no way we're sending them a draft pick for mayo. straight up trade would be best, especially for an expiring contract. it won't hurt their chances of going for lebron next season even if they have no chance...

It would be amazing if we were to get Mayo for Butler. I'm not sure why Dallas would bother though. I don't think we should trade Crawford for him, because we are getting great value from Crawford for what we pay him.

This. Bledsoe is too high, Butler seems too low. I dunno, do they want Butler basically for free for his salary? He has one year left right?
And yeah Crawford is a good deal for us, so that should make him preferable to Mayo.
