I have a feeling that Mullins is gonna drive me nuts with his 3 point attempts, even though he's making them right now.

Nice penetration by Collison, it results in Amundson getting a slam and we're up by 3

That was certainly a more exciting ending than anticipated

Well we pulled out the win 102-96. We had stretches when we played well and stretches when we didn't play well. It's only preseason and we have a lot of guys out. I just hope not to see anything like that during the regular season.

Also I wonder if Doc was experimenting to see how the coaching staff would do coaching the team. I'm sure we'll hear more about what's happening with him in the next few days.

Preseason is half way over and we've yet to see the full squad together. I want them to get the chance to establish a little chemistry before the season starts. Barnes is solid in his role and there should be any big adjustments that need to be made. Redick is new here and expected to be a starter while being a bench player for the majority of his career. I'd like to see him get at least 3 games.

The team gutted it out. Phoenix has been playing well in preseason. They push the tempo and have improved defensively. It seemed like there was foul after foul being committed/called and turnover after turnover. It also seemed like we gave up a ton of offensive boards. Apparently, it wasn't as many as it seemed, but it was an issue last season as well. Playing good defense for 20 seconds only to cough up an o-board is a bit frustrating.

It was nice to see Paul play more aggressively earlier on. He's stated that he'll give a more concerted effort to attack earlier in the game. It probably didn't hurt that he was going head-to-head against his old practice sparring partner. It wasn't DJ's best showing of the preseason, but he was solid. I hated to see him miss those free-throws though.

That thought kind of crossed my mind. Unexpected situation for both the team and Gentry to see how they respond. Was it a coincidence that it just so happened to be in Phoenix?

mk, so what do you think of the Doc Rivers philosophy of basically saying "Screw offensive rebounds. I want transition defense." I have always loved watching a team that can grab offensive rebounds. To me they demoralize their opponent for the very reason you just stated. You play great defense the entire shot clock only to give up a rebound and either an easy bucket or you have to play D longer. This is the one part of Doc's style I'm not too sure about.

On the other hand, we were a pretty bad rebounding team last year anyways, so instead of making a feeble attempt, getting back on D might not be so bad. I miss Reggie some times.
