Clippers Waive Morris

Post#1 » by McAdoo » Mon Jan 27, 2014 2:27 am

Wonder if we have any immediate plans with the roster spot or just keep it there for any fill ins needed.
The Clippers are back to making roster moves.

After the second of Darius Morris' 10-day contracts expired following the game against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night, the Clippers decided not to sign the point guard for the rest of the season.

Morris is a free agent and can sign with any team he desires.

That now leaves the Clippers with a 14-man roster, clearing room for them to sign another player if they so choose.

Morris played in 22 games for the Clippers during his short stay with the team.

He averaged 4.1 points and 1.6 assists in 11.2 minutes per game.

Maalik Wayns or Tyshawn Taylor

Post#2 » by Ranma » Mon Jan 27, 2014 2:40 am

I'm guessing Wayns will be brought in on his 2nd and final 10-day contract or they can hold off on Wayns and give Tyshawn Taylor a tryout with a couple of 10-day contracts while Chris Paul is out. Bobby Brown in the Chinese Basketball Association would have gotten consideration if not for his commitment taking him through February. Once CP3 returns, I think this roster spot will be used for backup big men options (Emeka Okafor, Ike Diogu, etc.)

Thanks go to Darius Morris, I was surprised w/ his game. He did a good job for a guy that knew he was here for only 20 days, I hope he gets a job in the league, he seems like a good guy.

Thanks, RC. I originally used a bigger image for the CP3's MVP Campaign thread, which is no longer relevant, but I took the image as a screen capture from the NBA TNT promo video below, which may or may not have aired. The sequence starts at the 1:37 time stamp.

Please do. I love Hollins bc he truly gives 100% everytime he is on the floor which I respect. And mullens just flat out blows.

We still might need a 3rd PG. At least while CP3 is out. We still need a decent back up big, but in all likelihood I don't know if I see us finding one at this point in the season. We'd have to make a trade to get a decent backup big man.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Maybe Arenas will be our next guy and debut and drop 50 in a win against Golden State!

I've been kind of expecting us to give Wayns another 10-day.

He's a Clipper hater though since his days with GSW and WAS.

Was joking but thought I heard he was trying out for the team and has been sighted at some home games. Kind of wish we got Baron on a ten day would be epic.

i dunno about that bro. i remember that we came very close to signing Arenas, and Gilbert said in a later interview that he couldn't make his mind up on his own between the clips and the bullets, that it had to come to a coin flip in the end. I don't know if Gilbert have said anything negative about us later on, but at least at the time of his signing with that DC team, he had no ill will against us.
ehhhhh f it.
