Just as I say that, the game pretty much ends with an untimely offensive rebound by Marc Gasol.

That's it, we couldn't beat the Grizzlies in Memphis. We lose this one 102-96

We couldn't rebound down the stretch and we missed a ton of free throws. We shot 27-43 from them line. If we were able to make more this could have been a whole new ball game. If we had struggle scoring, we could have at least got more points from the line. This sucks to lose to the Grizzlies especially because of our history. Hopefully we are able to sign some guys and fill out the roster.

We can't beat the Grizzlies if they are going to control the game. More often than not, that's what's happened lately when we've played them.

how awesome would it be to have Big Baby come in for Griff tonight and guard Randolph when Blake gets in foul trouble?

really stinks when the achilles held we've known we have since Halloween come back to bite us throughout the season.

We really need Memphis and the Spurs to be eliminated from the playoffs.

I think it's pretty clear J.J. Redick should win MVP this year
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

with the way the Clips have looked after the all star break, I'll be happy if they can just make the playoffs. The final stretch of games toward the end of the season are quite difficult and they seem to be playing their worst basketball now. Highly unlikely they will beat the Thunder on Sunday, so it will be imperative that they win the game against the Pelicans.

Realistically, what do you guys think the Clips win total will be at the end of the season? I think 50-52 games. I hope that is good enough for the playoffs- probably the 6th or 7th seed. I'm pretty sure GSW will ovetake the Clips.

The only hope for this season (in terms of actually doing serious damage in the playoffs) is if CP3 actually plays at the top of his game and the Clips get some serious big man help (Big Baby, Ivan Johnson) and an additional shooter- perhaps Granger (although I wonder if he is any good at all any more)

Paul is really disappointing me since the All-Star break. He just doesn't seem to have the motivation to try to take games over the way he used too.

These two losses are really going to hurt. Suns are only a game back in the loss column, and the Warriors are 2 away. Can't let the division slip away.

ClipperBlog Thoughts

Post#74 » by Ranma » Sat Feb 22, 2014 1:53 pm

This doesn't even mention Chris Paul's struggles as he continues to play himself back to form.

Last Call: Memphis Grizzlies 102, Los Angeles Clippers 96

The Clippers’ bench had seven points tonight. It shot 1-for-10 from the field. See title for all other thoughts.
- Fred Katz

Instead, the Clippers got zero scoring contribution from the bench during the second half and left 16 free points on the table, yet still almost pulled off a win. They went 27-of-43 from the free throw line, a sad 63 percent. Let’s just hope the Grizzlies don’t claw their way into the playoffs so I can cut down on visits to the cardiologist.
- Michael Shagrin

The Clippers are hitting 73 percent from the line on the season. With the exception of the Rockets (68.9 percent), that’s the lowest charity stripe success rate within the top-five West teams.
...

Free throws build confidence and cause momentum shifts. There are other factors like rebounds and fouls, yet sinking free throws is the easiest fix. Standing at the line, that shot is completely under the player’s control. For the past couple of years, the Clippers have been touted as a team with great potential to make a deep playoff run, and they have disappointed. Even if Blake throws down 28 and 13, in the Western Conference, that won’t be good enough.

Looks more like ability than motivation. His shot is off. Props to him for continuing to force his way to the FT line at least since he can't make anything from the field. Sadly with a shoulder injury you don't get to practice shooting while you're out. Him making shots the first two games was probably not an accurate representation of how the time off would affect him.

God I h8 mem.

Blake just had off night in fts. Also we didn't go to him enough. Heck he was on fire in 1st quarter.

Cp3 looked rusty too.

Jj is missed a lot. Blake good for 30 craw 25 . With cp3 playing back into the game shape we missing that 3rd scorer.

Jj also give us 3 threat.

Our bench is garbage . Offense and d. Remember when we had a bench? lol

Jj coming back should help with craw going to bench. Baby will help that too.

Granger/Gordon tempting as well.

Collision need to do bit better as well.

Long season but I really want us to click at some point vs good teams
