Even though he still brings a lot to this team, has anyone else noticed that in 6 playoff games he hasn't really taken control of a game yet?
Can anyone shed some light on his injury problems? He was also getting his hand looked at during tonight's loss. Can he pull through or is this the maximum production we are going to get out of him this post-season?

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
Something's not right with CP and it might not all be physical. He doesn't look like he's as much a fighter as he has in the past. And has anyone noticed his ability to finish at the rim has disappeared? He hasn't been able to do it for a few months now, but it's getting really apparent in this series. Moves he used to make he can't do anymore. That coupled with Blake's return to hesitancy and the team's overall lack of fight has me concerned.

I've noticed a loss of spark/fire from CP3 since game 2. Usually he is very chippy, barking with players, barking at the ref, very demonstrative in his demeanor but since the 40 point dusting he seems a lot more reserved and isn't seeming like his usual self mentality-wise. I wonder if it doesn't stem from the Sterling stuff? Who knows, really. His heart seems out of it from my eyeball test, which is super unlike Paul.
For instance on some of those bang/bang block/charge calls last night he would have normally blown up if the call went against him but he just seems to accept it and walk back down court these last few games. It's strange to see him so reserved.
Physically he seems OK to me, especially on D. He is doing a tremendous job of checking Curry (along with the entire Clippers team effort of course).

The defense has been strong but we greatly need a boost in scoring. The ball movement starts with Paul and less stand and dribble. Think we should have Blake bring up the ball more often.

He's doing a great job on Curry, and maybe his defense has sapped his energy for offense. I hope that's all it is. I'm used to seeing CP at the end of games get layups and easy bunnies, but he hasn't been able to convert those recently. And someone needs to get Blake an oxygen mask or something, dude is dying out there. Fight a little, Blake!

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
its called hamstring-knee-thumb-ankle/wrist-shoulderitis. its a very unusual injury. it doesnt cause you to limp or grimace while you are running or jumping, but when you're sitting on the bench it requires constant treatment of moving a large ice pack from one place to another and having a trainer work on other areas in the meantime. it can be very mentally debilitating. its often used as a reason for getting flat out dominated by your little brother (in this case- Steph Curry). luckily for Paul the injury cures itself spontaneously as soon as the next game starts

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
I used to always believe that our best play during a clutch moment was for CP3 to drive and layup while trying to draw the foul. I remember it won us a game during last year's Memphis playoffs. But now I put more faith in a Jamal 3 which is saying something!

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
He's had a part of his meniscus removed.
He'll be 29 in 4 days.
he's not the CP of 2008/2009.
maybe that's it...still thought he had one of his best year this season.
what a lame and untimely hamstring injury.
we really needed that win last night to give him a few days off for some treatment

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
It's definitely a physical issue,he was fine Game 1 (which was before the hammie IIRC). Also mentally seems a bit phased by these injuries and the Donald Sterling case, fighting less ever since then but the difference betweens Game 1 and now is definitely this hammie

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
Paul looked damn near 100% tonight hope the extra rest and day off does a body good more. So proud of Paul coming out with confidence and showing his elite status. We could use a huge Blake game in OKC.

Re: Chris Paul's Injury Problems
does anybody have the science on these hamstring injuries? anybody ever had one and can tell me how painful they are and what moving with them is like?
I'm thinking about Tony Parker having one last year and I thought he came up big for the Spurs at different parts of the finals....dont feel like looking up how good he actually was overall in the finals.
