If they get Butler back, they should get the whole original team back. Trade for Reggie Evans, Eric Bledsoe, and Mo Williams; convince Chauncey Billups to come out of retirement. I liked the old Paul-Billups-Butler-Griffin-Jordan starting lineup; that team before the Achilles injury to Billups could have broken through. Chris Paul needs another leader like him. Can that guy be Griffin?

I'm actually liking Randy Foye lately.

Butler is old and washed up, we need youth and athleticism at the 3.

I was very disappointed with Griffin last night. He is still way to passive at times. It is so irritating when he is passed the ball and has a wide open shot but doesn't even look at the rim.

Just read through this thread, I was wondering the same thing about Blake's vertical, he barely seems to be using his elite jump anymore... Is it gone? is he injured? or is he just lazy?

Either way, I don't get what's wrong with Blake this year. Tough loss last night..

MartinToVaught wrote:There's really no excuse for that if that's the case. A real championship team would be out for blood all year after a collapse like that. They wouldn't need a film session to "talk about their feelings."

This garbage play really points to a lack of leadership from CP3 in particular as the highest-paid player, the reason for that collapse, and the so-called "leader" of the team. It's also the result of awful coaching (Woodson) and a flawed roster. Doc needs to step aside and let a real GM come in to clean up this mess.

Lindecision wrote:Despite the epic choke job (especially CP3, again), the team performance was a lot better. It was much more encouraging than any of the other games. We did enoough to win the game until the middle of the 4th quater. Its getting there.

I wouldn't blame CP for this loss. from what I saw, it seems Blake was still affected by the illness and was robbed of any energy. his passes were atrocious and his pass receiving was an automatic turnover in the 4th quarter. if we just eliminated the TOs involving blake, whether he was passing or receiving, would have easily tilted the balance in our favor.

having said that, I would give a pass since Blake was sick. maybe doc should have let some others who were not ill to play in Blake's position.

fortunately, our schedule for the remaining days of November seems to favor us to win at minimum 2/3 of the games. if we can get it together, we may even be able to string a long winning streak. hope Doc and the Company can use this week's dayoffs to sharpen the system or tweak it and get it right.

I'm disappointed we didn't do the Shumpert trade now. 14.3 ppg 3.4 rpg 3.6 apg 51%FG 57% 3pt (3 treys a game) so far this season.

It's pretty good when people complain that CP had a bad game but still flirted with a triple double. I've said this before but we need to find ways to score when shots aren't falling. Not being able to get a single bucket in 5 minutes of play is not okay.

It wasn't done because he got injured :(

Still I don't know how much I trust 8 games of offensive production from him, but he would have been nice to have a wing that can defend and has athletic ability.

I'd still blame him more than Blake though. We all knew about his illness so CP really needed to score more in this game. But he didn't. He rarely does. They both had TO's but CP's were far more crucial. Once where he tried to force the fast break and then the Kawhi steal.

Not that I'd want to start blaming individuals now. I mean we could point to Jamal, DJ, Barnes, JJ, Hawes and Doc on rotation. It gets tiring. The team stopped playing/executing in the 4th. That's why we lost.

Jamal played like trash.

consistently throughout the whole game.
CP was fine. Kawhi is just a freak....that layup was difficult.

I think the spurs are that team, the clippers will never get passed unless one of their big name players gets hurt.

The Spurs played very poorly by their own standards, we were lucky to not get smashed like we did against GS.

tbh if Jordan evolved like Ibaka from athletic shot blocker that bites on every pump fake to all around clever rim protector, and we somehow got a young SF (Bullock might be that guy), we have the kind of crazy activity and athleticism that is the kryptonite for the Spurs offense. OKC showed the blueprint already.

If that evolution is even possible, well that's the thing ain't it.
