Re: game 16 LAC @ Utah
Happy that we got another road win and we had a very successful road trip. I honestly didn't expect us to go 6-1. I didn't see the game but from the boxscore I saw that we dominated the 1st quarter. Now I hope all the road success can translate at home. We're in a nice groove so I'd like to see it continue.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

From games 4 onward, the Clippers lead the league in 3P% @ 39.9% from downtown. Hat tip to FlyByKnight. Over the same stretch, we also lead the league in FG% with 49.3% shooting.
As of yesterday, the Clippers have an offensive rating of 111.2 (3rd) and a defensive rating of 106.2 (14th). The numbers are better. Defensively, there's still a lot of room for improvement.
We have a defensive rebounding percentage of 76.8%, which makes us the 5th best defensive rebounding team in the league. We were 26th in defensive rebounding percentage last season. On the flip side, we're the absolute worst offensive rebounding team in the league. This has been a trademark for Doc's teams over the years. Forsake the second chance opportunity to prevent fastbreak points. As a result, we're allowing 9.8 fast break ppg, which is second to only the Hawks.

I'll take that loss in offensive rebounding while being a great fast break defending team and defensive rebounding team as long as it also correlates with keeping opponent percentages down.
Currently we are giving up .501 eFG% (18th), 67.2% at the rim (27th), 45.1% FG (17th), 32.7% 3PT (7th) and .260 FTA/FG (26th). We can't send opponents to the line a lot AND give up high percentages at the rim.

I agree completely. I like the idea of DJ hanging around the rim to take advantage of put-back opportunities while the rest of the team gets back on D. Even if DJ doesn't get the board, he is athletic/quick enough to catch up with the rest of the team.

A lot of players don't trust DJ's help enough and foul as soon as they are beat. Also I'm hesitant to say we have good 3pt defense because a lot of the time this season (see v HOU), the opposition simply missed some good looks although I'll say we have dramatically improved in this area on our road trip. The only way I see us being better defensively in the paint is to never play a Davis/Griffin combo.

The pick-and-roll coverage wasn’t quite right, and Enes Kanter ended up easily getting around Blake Griffin for reverse layup.
As the Clippers took the ball out of bounds, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan started to bark at each other, voicing frustration for the blown assignment.
A minute later when the team went to the sidelines for a timeout, the debating continued, now with Chris Paul involved.
“It even carried over to the bench. They were still arguing about it. The next thing you know, they went out onto the floor and they were fine,” Rivers said. “Like I say all the time, I’d rather them talk about it than not – even if they don’t like the talk at the time. At least they get through it and move on.”

im all about it.
hold each other accountable.
would be worse to me if they didn't check that kinda stuff.
and yes, Blake looked awful on that play.
matador defense. not sure what looking at DJ was gonna do for him there….but even if it was DJ's fault (i doubt it), he looked terrible.

Re: game 16 LAC @ Utah
For a super athletic player I sometimes question Blake's energy on D. When games are close I notice that he can defend superbly however if we are up by double digits he can get a bit relaxed.
