Chris Paul Is Quietly Having An MVP Caliber Season

CP3 is having a historic season by all metrics. Seriously, he's on pace to put up prime-Nash numbers. I'm talking 50/40/90 percentages while scoring 18ppg and dishing 10apg. I felt compelled to write about it. Please check it out:

I think because CP3 and Blake are playing so well, they unfortunately pull each other away from the top MVP spot. This is a great problem to have though.

I think that CP has been so good at what he does for so long that a lot of people just overlook it as status quo for him. Players like Lowry and Wall have been playing some of the best basketball of their careers and Curry is currently on the best team in the league. I've seen people hyping them up as the best point guards in the league with nary a word about Paul. Typical NBA fans don't tend to care as much if you're doing what you normally do (i.e. raw stats) with less attempts/mistakes/minutes (i.e. more efficiently). His play has been more subtle and casual observers haven't recognized it.

If he keeps it up (and stays healthy), the Clippers should continue to move up in the standings. Once that happens, a little more focus should be thrown his way.
