Trading Glen Davis' expiring contract

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2302 ... trade-bait
Is this article acurate? Is our salary cap hit based upon his initial deal or what we signed him for in the amnesty deal and his resigning? If so that gives us a lot more flexibility than I thought we had.
Expiring contracts

In the modern NBA, expiring contracts matter. As teams prepare to shuffle payroll in order to create salary-cap flexibility, soon-to-be free agents become a hot commodity in the trade market. With that in mind, Glen Davis should be at the forefront of any trade discussion.

His 2014 cap hit of $6.6 million is the last of his current contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent come the summer. That means that Los Angeles could find itself moving Big Baby for an upgrade in the frontcourt.

Here's a breakdown of every expiring contract the Clippers hold (data via Spotrac):
Player Position Age 2014 Cap Hit
Hedo Turkoglu PF 35 $915,243
Glen Davis PF 28 $6,600,000
DeAndre Jordan C 28 $11,440,123
Chris Roberts SG 27 $915,243
Ekpe Udoh PF 27 $915,243
Jared Cunn SG 23 $915,243

On a side note this article is rubbish, our biggest need is an athletic wing not another big man. Doc always puts transition defense before offensive rebounding so our reboundng numbers will always be lower than what they could be if Blake and DJ crashed the offensive glass.

That article has a mistake. I confirmed it with Eric Pincus on Twitter, he says Davis does not have a cap hit.

At one point, I wanted to contact the author about the mistake. Wonder if I should still do it.

This is now a prime example of a learning lesson to each one of you. Never, and I mean never trust bleacher report as a source. The majority of the site is filled with people who know nothing about what they are talking about.

There are a couple of good guys, Fred Katz being one of them (he hosts the Clipperblog Live videos following every game). Do you think Bleacher Report is comprised solely of nobodies who are asked to hate the Clippers and write anything that is blasphemous to them and its fan base, just to get a rep? I know Ric Bucher is one of them.

Bleacher Report is a filter case. I look for the guys who have the good stuff and know what they are writing about. But I keep a close eye on those analytical articles on the Clippers that, while they do provide factual stats, are really a piece of hatred and vengeance in disguise.

It's always important to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Well the way I see it, if you allow basically anyone to come and write for you then you can't be news outlet. I'm sure they do have some credibility ever since they became affiliated with TNT. But for the most part, the site is just filled with various story etc that are written by general nobodies.
