This was devastating to read on Twitter this morning. It's hard to read comments without getting emotional, but it's great to see the outpouring of love that his memory is receiving. Like most of you, I grew up listening to Stuart Scott. Not everyone was a fan of his, but I definitely enjoyed his presence. Outside of sports, he was a very inspiring person for how he faced the challenges in his life and the way that he loved his daughters. Taelor and Sydni meant the world to him and he made sure that they knew it. My thoughts and prayers are with them and his loved ones.

Many of us have grown up to the legend that is Stuart Scott! He was one of those few people/idols that you meet and is a better person than you would've ever imagined. Proud to call him both a mentor and friend. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and especially his two beautiful daughters! Much LOVE and RESPECT! #RIP

thanks for calling me old, Quake, but yeah i was a grown man when this cat was doing the show. my youth was more like Greg Gumble and I remember Dan Patrick getting started around my college years. but Stuart Scott was one of the good ones of this generation tho. RIP.

PS- he was much better than anyone i can remember on that network for the last 15 years or so. maybe Swami was perhaps more entertaining. but then again, I haven't seen any shows on ESPN other than occasional games... for a long time. 49 is young. man Im gonna get there before my son goes to his prom. Im sure he will be dearly missed not only by his fans but most importantly, by his daughters.

man i was shocked and sad when i heard the news while getting ready for work yesterday morning. guy was a once in a generation talent as an anchor. i true loss for the entire sports world. RIP Stu
