The funny thing is that someone always seems to bring up how the Suns' training staff complimented Powell once whenever he's criticized. Nobody stops to think of why a division rival would be talking up our current trainer.

the only people whom i've heard criticize the clippers training staff are its own fans.

by all accounts of new clipper players that i've heard of (even ones coming from the suns' highly lauded staff), we have one of the best in the business.

"Dallas was attractive to Stoudemire in part because of a pick-and-roll-intensive offense that plays to his strengths. The Mavs also have a highly respected medical staff, led by Team USA athletic trainer Casey Smith, that will maximize Stoudemire's chances of staying healthy for the stretch run and playoffs while dealing with chronic knee problems."

That is a direct cut and paste from the ESPN.com article about Amare choosing the Mavericks over us.

ok so yeah it lists two factors. You do know that amare's bread and butter with steve nash was hammering the p/r over and over and over all day every day, right? That's what the mavs do now with their offense nowadays. i mean that's ALL they do.

If amare was here he'd come off the bench and watch jamal chuck shots over and over and over all day every day. And while i would have liked the idea that we could have another weapon off the bench, let's be real: you only have so many shots in a game and crawford would never pair well with amare. Amare doesn't do anything worth a damn except score. With jamal taking his shots away amare doesn't get to shoot and he knows knows that. That's gotta be a huge factor for someone whose built his entire career around scoring.

Furthermore, what does another training staff have to do with this team's? Why can't they be better just enough for amare to decide? Why can't casey smith and amare have a special rapport that influences him? Why can't amare make a decision based on things he heard from friends in dallas?

Just trying to make a point that what influenced his decision doesn't necessarily mean this staff is bad or needs to go. I'm not even trying to defend jasen powell and i don't even know if he really is good, but what the fans think seems to be quite contrary to what players say about this staff.

It goes back to how Jared Dudley was forced to play through injury, and how Doc basically refused to let him rest. Doc would run him to the ground just to salvage a win. Stat coming here would basically mean the end of his career.

which, again, has what to do with the training staff?

what you're talking about has to do with doc rivers being an ****. not jasen powell or his training staff.

Jamal is a willing passer if he is playing with guys that can score. He played well alongside Redick at times last season.

Not guys that can score but guys that are in a better position. Most of our players are willing to give up a shot to pass to a teammate. The problem is that when Jamal has the ball, a lot of our guys just stand there and watch (similar to Blake), which is why Jamal chucks up a lot of prayers. You'll see on any of our fast breaks, everyone is willing to pass it around. We aren't a selfish team, but sometimes we lack effort/energy leaving us to resort to poor plays such as the Jamal iso.

i'm not so sure about that. i see him ball hog 90% of the time he's playing with blake and cp3.
