question? is Austin a better overall defender than jj? I do not think so plus he is a poor decision maker and horrible free throw shooter. putting him in at the end of close games is recipe for disaster. doc has to be completely brain dead. dj needs to play hard every play a lot more than he need a hair cut. the team is really playing well. it would be great if doc and Austin can stay out of the way.

honestly this season it doesn't look like it. jj just really got better and he is so spot on with everything he needs to be doing. that said jj has the luxury of playing with a very good unit that makes it a lot easier for him to play his role.

austin imo looked more tenacious last season. not saying he's bad, i just don't see some of the things i saw last season and i think jj improved by a substantial amount.

I really respect your insight however I thought the same last year. jj is just a much better player in all aspects of the game. Austin is just not a very good nba player. he just has his father to help him along. I have 3 grandsons playing sports and when the coach has a son playing on the team is creates problems especially when he is a poor player. it is what it is. hard to be objective when it is your kid.

just wait for next season... Doc will make Austin a starter if he can't retain JJ...
