as long as jamal crawford is trusted and until blake/cp3 finally believe they're better players than jamal then no structure will ever exist for the bench unit.

We needed a backup phone and we got one. I think this is another solid signing for the minimum. If Felton doesn't work out we can find a way to get rid of him.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I don't thing many people realize how solid of a year Felton had with the Mavs. He is easily the best playmaker coming off the bench and I hope at some point, he will play ahead of Jamal and/or Austin. I think he can potentially make as much of an impact as either one of them if given the opportunity.

a few mavs fans on the T/T board mentioned that he'd had a positive impact for the team.

I'm pretty happy with this pickup. Felton seems like a solid backup who can run an offense, and it's pretty encouraging reading some of the comments from Mavs fans.

I thought he was their best PG last season, even if Williams played over him most of the time. He has been sneakily good his whole career really, except that one year in Portland. He's a very good pick'n'roll PG and I can't wait to see him play with DJ to relive what he used to do with Chandler in NY. If only we still had Cole in place of Speights, that 2nd unit could've been nasty.

ive never been a fan of speights because he seems too arrogant. However the guy has a very good jump shot for a big man

I don't know if it is us being oblivious of Felton's good performance last season, as it is more about unreasonable obcession of Doc with Jamal and favoring his son. I just don't see how we can explain king's ransom we paid to retain Jamal and Austin, just to sit them behind a vet's minimum Felton. the coach Doc can't expose the faults of the GM Doc.

The thing is, Felton is a clear upgrade over Pablo. Not having the luxury of a starting caliber 5th guard give Doc no choice but to play Jamal or Austin. But now, Felton on certain nights, will probably outplay one or both of those guys and force Doc's hand.

I sure hope your optimism is correct... but I have my doubts, since in order to "outplay" to "force doc's hand" Felton first need some playing time. if Jamal and Austin sees the floor before Felton, that is highly unlikely that Felton can do much in a limited time, unfortunately.

BUT I do love having him on board and hope either Jamal or Austin is a trade bait. we don't need both, they are redundant combo guards who can't be relied on to run the offense if CP goes down for extended period of time.

Felton Finds Familiarity In Move To Clippers

“I’m excited to be here,” Felton said. “It’s been a lot of years of battling in the STAPLES Center versus the Clippers and listening to the fans here. Just excited to be on the right side of it. This is probably one of the most exciting teams in the NBA right now, so like I said, I’m happy to be a part of it, happy to be a part of the fan base here.”

“He's [Mike Woodson] funny,” Felton said. “He’s going to say what he wants to say, but at the same time, he’s going to go to bat for you. He’s a great guy, a great father figure. I think all these coaches (with the Clippers) are, so just to be here and be around him again and be a part of Clipper Nation is going to be exciting.”

While he’s more familiar with Woodson than the rest of the coaching staff, Felton said he has relationships with head coach Doc Rivers, assistant coach Sam Cassell and executive vice president Lawrence Frank.

On the players’ side, it’ll be a reunion with Jamal Crawford, as the two played together during the 2011-12 season in Portland. While Felton hasn’t played with many of the Clippers, years of competing against them has helped him build friendships on the team – even with college rival J.J. Redick.

“I just know when I come in, I’m going to be comfortable,” Felton said. “Just understanding and knowing I’m going to be in a comfortable situation, and then on top of that, this is L.A., what can you complain about?”

Fetlon's Turnaround Beyond the Arc

Admittedly, I wasn't among the biggest believers in Raymond Felton even though I liked him as a prospect in the 2005 NBA Draft, but he's been quite good for us and has even surprised those who were in support of his signing, especially with his 3-point shooting.
