my fandom did not go back that far, neddy. but i sure do remember that brutal 0 and forever start that ended with lorenzen wright nabbing 22(?) rebounds.

RIP to Lorenzen... a seven footer looking like an underweighted anorexic Karen Carpenter at the draft night...

so many tragedies this franchise endured... there is of course Lorenzen, Rodney Rodgers being paraplegic after his quad accident, Danny Manning and his mingled knees, Ron Harper and his mingled knees... Bo Kimble and his tribute to Hank Gathers, Ernie DiGregorio, even the sad days of Bill Walton... how about our only dunk champ Brent the Bones Berry having to wear his warm up jacket because he was ashamed of his bony phsique at the allstar weekend as a non-all star?

then there was the Donald.

cp3's stat lines are insane for only playing 25 minutes tonight.

really glad we're getting all these blowout wins because the schedule has been pretty nuts for this team.

not saying a second rounder is supposed to show you anything, but i don't at all see stone's game is.

I think we all know Stone has offensive instincts and abilities with a perimeter shot and post game, but he's shown a lack of defensive focus, awareness, and commitment during his time at Maryland despite being a fairly hyped prep player. The kid needs to make D a priority. He certainly has the build to contribute.

he is a smooth, old school offensive operator under the basket within 5 foot. he has a 15 foot J but his inside the paint game is exceptional.

Moses Malone comes to mind.. minus his defense and rebound... or the block.

More Critique of Stone

Post#36 » by Ranma » Tue Nov 15, 2016 5:56 am

Stone traveled a bit before getting the foul call where he tried to bully his way to the basket. He's not going to get away with that as much in the pros against grown men as he did in college and high school. He also technically fouled a driving opponent when he put both arms up but jumped into the player; no foul was called. At least he has 2 buckets (on 6 shots) and a blocked shot.

I'll take the opportunity to say that as much as I love what Doc is doing this year in getting the Clippers to play lockdown defense, let's not forget that he still has quite a way to go as a GM even if we hope Lawrence Frank is having more influence in the decision-making. As disappointing as our draft opportunities were with our targeted players quickly being snapped up by teams slotted before us, we still had the opportunity to draft Furkan Korkmaz to stash in Europe and either Brice Johnson or Patrick McCaw in the 2nd round. Instead we took Brice in the 1st round along with Diamond and David Michineau in the 2nd round.

I liked Brice but I would have preferred rolling the dice on taking him in the 2nd round with the 33rd overall pick. Now he's out with an injury and showing concerns about his inconsistent motor due to a questionable mentality were valid issues with him. I even like Stone and Michineau at their respective draft positions, but we traded down for them. You can argue that it's easy to criticize in hindsight, but the Draft thread should show that I would have preferred coming away with Korkmaz and Johnson/McCaw instead of the trio that we ended up with.

I love when wins aren't in doubt. Another win to add to the leagues best record and no doubt this is our best start. Too bad Brice Johnson isn't healthy, he could be getting s8me time with these blowouts.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
